A Post-mortem of the 2020 Election

Trump’s brusque manner in his personal relationships and his contentious, populist style in public and with the media were some of the factors that led to his defeat in the 2020 presidential election. From a functional perspective, what he needed to do was to form a relationship of attractive opposition with the electorate but, instead, he formed a relationship of antagonistic opposition with many of them.

Moreover, his behavior detracted from his numerous accomplishments as President. During his tenure, America became energy independent for the first time in history; he pulled American troops out of a seemingly endless conflict in Afghanistan; he pushed for building a wall at America’s southern border; he settled an endless conflict in the Middle East by establishing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, something which no past president was able to achieve.

Many who were against him saw his theatrics and other surface antics as un-presidential. He was presented by the media as “too untrustworthy and too emotional,” i.e. unstable, and not fit for the presidency. By contrast, Biden was pictured on the political stage in the exact opposite manner, with a seemingly smooth, cool, competent facade. In the debates, he responded to Trump’s contentiousness by appearing unruffled and in control of himself, traits that scored him points in the publics mind. More importantly, Biden was expertly packaged. during the political campaign. He never revealed his political hand to the public, and only appeared in carefully orchestrated interviews, speaking mainly in platitudes.

Contact between people happens on the social surface. What mattered to the public about Trump and Biden were what people saw of the candidates on the social surface, their facade, not about the dynamic that was being played out in the social depths within and between these two socio-political character types. The public’s exclusive focus on the surface was also a symptom of their profound state of cluelessness about the two candidates highly different underlying socio-political character structures which was the key to how they would function in the Oval Office.

If Trump had decorum and behaved with dignity instead of playing endlessly to his loyal base he would have earned more credit with the public as a whole. His opponents were seasoned provocateurs and he let himself be constantly provoked. This gave him the image of a populist figure and a street fighter in the minds of the public, not a politician with integrity and a clear strategy for America. By allowing himself to fall into this image, he became his own worst political enemy.

The Strategy of the Emotional Plague

To understand what is currently happening in today’s world, recognizing the existence and operation of the emotional plague is necessary. Without this understanding nothing that is happening can make any sense. The strategy of the plague is to generate confusion and immobilization in its victims. For example, the Black Lives Matter and the Antifa movements generate confusion by pretending to be for their stated goals of caring for blacks and opposing fascism, core functions of life. But, in fact, their true motive is exactly the opposite, to organize and use these political movements as weapons to destroy what still remains healthy in American society .

An understanding of the three layers of the bio-psychic apparatus is also necessary. The emotional plague always seems to be operating from people’s biological core. This is how the plague legitimizes itself as genuine. But it originates and is expressed through the social surface from people’s destructive middle layer.

The Three Sacred Cows, Then and Now

In the past authoritarian era prior to around 1960, a person’s ideas on sexual matters, religion and politics were the three sacred cows. People’s social armor was intact and they were nobody’s business. In today’s anti-authoritarian era, because of the breakthrough of people’s destructive secondary layer to the social surface and with the shift of the social mainstream to the far left of political center, they have become everybody’s business.

The leftward shift was a symptom of the emotional plague’s continued invasiveness, through political activity, into society as more people have been taught to believe in political answers to social problems that have nothing to do with them. The upshot is that today, with Biden’s election as President and the far left media supporting him, the emotional plague from the far left is within reach of gaining political control of America.

Do Not Get Lost in Politics and Political Discussions

Political discussions are always mystical and morally tinged based on ideas of the “Good guys – us”, versus the “Bad guys – them”. In order to be rid of mystical thinking one has to think functionally. Thinking in terms of the three layers of the bio-psychic apparatus allows one to think functionally about people’s political ideas and behaviors and not get lost in endless, non-productive political discussions. It is from the three layers of their bio psychic apparatus, the biological core, the destructive middle layer and the superficial layer, or surface that people function and all human ideas and behaviors must be understood as expressions from them.

Biden was the Wrong American to be Elected President

Biden was the wrong candidate elected to be President of the United States because:

  1. His victory represented the political far-left’s expression of the hated authoritarian-appearing father figure, Donald Trump, the rival that stood in the way of their political goal of controlling America.
  2. There is no longer a two party political system in America that existed in the past where both parties were strongly pro-American. Today, one party supports American interests nationally and internationally while the other party is opposed to and wants to destroy them.
  3. Biden is a spineless political hack on the far-left of the political spectrum incapable of governing. People who voted for him are clueless about the enormous destructive consequences resulting from his socio-political ideology as President.
  4. Biden is under the influence of and apologizes for the behavior of his communist cohorts in the Democratic Party including the new Vice President herself all of whom are emotional plague characters. They will be controlling the Democratic Party’s operations even if Biden is never replaced.
  5. Under Biden’s regime, the current anti-authoritarian transformation of society will continue to shift further leftward resulting in more governmental control of people’s economic and social lives. America will end up being turned into a communist-style State under the absolute control of Democratic Party’s far-left ideologues.

On Recognizing the Emotional Plague’s Strategy

A functional understanding of the dynamics of emotional plague character’s social behavior is necessary before effectively dealing with it. In an earlier blog (9/25), fomenting mindless social change was shown to be the emotional plague’s weapon of choice. Although generally true, this does not provide an understanding of the specific methods that the plague has at its disposal. To understand and deal with them, knowledge of the psychopathology of groups is necessary.

A strategy of the plague is to set up an antagonistic, sadomasochistic relationship between different groups of people and exploit it. To generate social tension and conflict between blacks and whites, for example, leftist radicals function as provocateurs by politicizing feelings of victimization and resentment and fomenting hatred of whites by blacks. This predictably leads to destructive social action on the part of some blacks through rioting, looting, and a temporary reaction of force on the part of the police that accomplishes nothing in the long run.

The leftist provocateurs actions must first be identified and exposed as criminal acts of the emotional plague before these flames of racial discord can be permanently put out. But before this can happen, people have to begin thinking in a different way, functional thinking, that corresponds to the way things function.

The Economy is the Life Blood of the Nation

Baaed on people’s biological work function, the social life of the nation depends on the health of its economy. Shut down (immobilize) the economy and the nation is in a state of biological shock similar to that of an individual organism. If prolonged, both the society and the individual cannot survive. This fate is in store for America if an economic lockdown is imposed as a way of dealing with the coronavirus pandemic for an indefinite, open-ended period of time. This is the symptomatic solution that today’s mechanistically trained epidimeologists and many politically oriented people on the left, who know nothing about the vital function that the economy has on social life, are recommending.

The effective way to deal with the pandemic is keeping the economy alive and allow the nation’s society to undergo a social contraction as it is being done through the practice of social distancing, through taking social hygiene precautions against infection and keeping medical illness out of the hands of politicians.

The Emotional Plague’s Invasion into Psychiatry

Today’s degradation of psychiatric practice was another destructive consequence of the emotional plague that first started with Freud’s opposition to Reich’s attempt to extend his psychoanalytic theories of the libido and the neurosis into the social realm. This rift between them ended Reich’s association in the psychoanalytic movement and led to the development of Reich’s work into sociology (“The Mass Psychology of Fascism”) and into biology with the discovery of biological orgone energy.

With no natural scientific foundation to support it, psychoanalysis became vulnerable to attack by the emotional plague. In the 1960s, Freud’s functional understanding of psychiatric disorders was thrown out and the entire specialty of psychiatry became transformed into a mechanistic, drug-oriented system of therapy. Today, all that is required in psychiatric treatment is to arrive at a symptom-based diagnostic – DSM -system for the patient’s condition and the right quantity of the drug needed for each psychiatric disorder.

As a result, psychiatrists have abandoned responsibility for the patient’s health to the lay public. In order to have an understanding of the function that lay people can have in the mental health field, the existence of social orgonomy and the distinction between the individual and social realms of human illness is necessary. Non-physicians can be trained to practice social orgonomy, which deals with the individuals problems in the social realm, but they cannot become qualified to practice psychiatry which is in the biological realm.

According to an article in The Wall Street Journal (October 5, 2020), “more (lay) people are becoming therapists” … as … “more people (are) seeking out mental health help”. Antioch College, for example, has had a 200% increase in applicants in its clinical psychology program.

The qualitative component of psychiatric treatment has been relegated to lay therapists who have little, if any, understanding of the bio-emotional basis underlying psychiatric illnesses. They are simply not equipped with the necessary medical knowledge and experience to to their work. This situation is another consequence of the emotional plague.

Allowing lay people to treat psychiatric problems which are in the medical realm is one more destructive consequence resulting from the anti-authoritarian transformation of society that is destroying all forms of social authority including not just that of the psychiatrist.

The American College of Orgonomy is currently providing interested physicians and non-physicians with training necessary in the practices of medical and social orgonomy to qualified candidates.

Fomenting Social Change is the Left’s Weapon of Choice For its Political Takeover

Before any improvement can be expected in social conditions there must first be an understanding and application to social processes of the knowledge contained in the science of Social Orgonomy. The three layers of the human bio-psychic apparatus consisting in the biological core, the destructive secondary layer and the superficial layer or facade is one example.

The political left’s anti-authoritarian tactic is to encourage the expression of people’s repressed ideas and emotions contained in their secondary destructive layer and direct them against authority figures on all social levels. The left will find any cause, such as “black lives matter”, as a rationalization to justify this expression. By step-by-step indoctrinating children and adolescents in the new norms of anti-authoritarian thinking and social behavior and by teaching the morality of political correctness to adults and turning them into mindless robots, the left’s political goal of undermining the existing authoritarian social order will be accomplished. This tactic of the emotional plague is responsible for the current acceleration in the widespread destructiveness of society.

Because of the people’s cluelessness regarding the source of humanity’s social problems and of the existence of the plague, the left is easily stepping in and promising all of its outworn, socialist political agendas and have them be passively accepted by the mindless public. This has a single objective, gaining political control over the American people’s minds and lives.

The Coronavirus Pandemic and the Emotional Plague

Where there is social mischief to be done the emotional plague will find a way to be there to do it. The Chinese and Russian governments are controlled by emotional plague characters on the extreme political left, a.k.a., communists. Their existence depends on living off of and destroying the productivity of other nations. Hackers from these countries have been interfering with America’s coronavirus research efforts from the beginning of the pandemic. Their activity involves both stealing information and disrupting the victim’s operation networks, clear-cut manifestations of the emotional plague. According to Bryan S. Ware, the assistant director of cybersecurity for the Homeland security Department’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, “When an adversary is doing a smash-and-grab, there is even more likely a chance of not just stealing information but somehow disrupting the victim’s operations networks.”

Both Russia and China have already spread disinformation about the virus, its origins and America’s response to it. Generating confusion and interfering with people’s work function are prime tactics and symptoms of the emotional plague.
