The Coronavirus and the Emotional Plague

In order to understand what is happening in fascist regimes like Communist China, knowledge of the layering of the bio-psychic apparatus is essential. Fascist regimes function to maintain their own survival by operating entirely from their destructive, secondary layer and repressing the lives of the people they govern. They are fundamentally opposed to protecting every one of the core functions of their inhabitant’s lives. This identifies the character structure of people governing these nations as emotional plague characters.

With this information, it is possible to raise the following questions: Regarding the coronavirus pandemic, how can the Chinese Government consisting of a regime that survives on total repression of its population be genuinely concerned in protecting the biological core functions of its citizenry? How can these leaders be trusted to provide reliable medical information to other nations regarding the coronavirus epidemic that originated in and was allowed to spread through their own country when they actively avoided addressing it to prevent its invasion when first detected?

What is the functional relationship between communism and the coronavirus? Communism, a deadly disease (the emotional plague) in the bio-social realm, is functionally identical to the coronavirus, a deadly disease in the individual, biological realm.

On The Government’s Handling of The Coronavirus

In Social Orgonomy, knowledge of the three layers of the human bio-psychic apparatus is indispensable. These are the biological core, the destructive secondary layer and the superficial layer or facade. A natural function of government is to protect the lives of it’s citizens from harm. Therefore, the government’s current handling of the coronavirus threat is a necessary, natural (core) function.

People’s confusion about the natural functions of human life, in particular, and of government, in general, results in the invasion of the emotional plague into the social arena. In particular, the plague thrives on the public’s confusion over the difference between natural drives from the biological core and the secondary drives from the destructive, secondary or middle layer.

This confusion allows every possible human need, natural or pathological, to be included as a natural right that requires protection by the government. This is a way of armored thinking that allows the plague from the political left in the form of bureaucracy to infest and become institutionalized in a government ready to “protect” the people.

The Breakdown of Responsibility in Anti-authoritarian Society

In the past authoritarian society (prior to around 1960) the idea of people being responsible for themselves was clear. People became responsible around the legal age of 18. At this time young people became ready to work for a living, learn a trade or get a degree of some kind, marry, start having families of their own, and vote. Young men became eligible to serve in the armed forces to protect their country etc. At 18 years of age young people were considered to be and were treated as adults.

With the destruction of the authoritarian social order there has been a breakdown of individual responsibility. In today’s anti-authoritarian society with the breakdown of the authoritarian family and of social order, there is widespread confusion about what age young people are considered to be responsible adults. Many 18-year-olds today have not yet reached a state of emotional maturity where they can be considered responsible adults capable of taking care of themselves and having a family. They often remain at an arrested state of emotional development well into their third and fourth decade.

Yet, even as prep-school and college students they are led to believe that they have the right to tell their teachers and professors what their curricula should be and to know what is best for others in society. The anti-authoritarian educators are an extension of the same mental state as the parents of these young people. Both behave destructively and irresponsibly in their respective roles as educators and parents. They are biophysically incapable of bringing anything in terms of guidance and experience from the past for the benefit of the younger generation.

The confusion regarding the problem of responsibility in today’s anti-authoritarian society is not just another way of eradicating human history. It is a form of psychic repression manifesting in the social realm and another symptom of the emotional plague. Take away the past and young people have no way of orienting themselves to having any importance and meaning to their lives. Their cluelessness places them at the mercy of emotional plague, leftist political ideologues to be in control of directing their lives.

The Underlying Contempt and Arrogance of the Far-left for America

The far-left seems to know better than the law of the land, The United States Constitution, what is best for everyone. In the Impeachment trail against Trump, they pretended to follow Constitutional Rules but they did so minimally only as a formality. Now that he has been acquitted of any wrongdoing, they will not stop their attacks on him because the Impeachment Trial was only a ruse. There was never any genuine interest to determine whether or not he had committed any crime.

It is easy to conclude from the events that the motive force behind the far-left’s desire to destroy Trump is simply based on their hatred of him. However, it is not only Trump that they want to destroy. They hate the entire system of the American Nation upon which the Constitution is its foundation. The far-left, communist has nothing but disrespect and contempt for the Constitution and they have the arrogance to believe that they have something better to replace it with. Therefore, it must first be destroyed as the law of the land. Break down the rule of law and what you have is social chaos and mass destruction. Everyone’s opinion is as good as everyone else’s. This is a typical communist tactic that has been used time and time again to gain political power over people. This is a manifestation of the emotional plague.

The Invasion of the Emotional Plague into American Life

A nation is a natural bio-social organization. A first line of defense of a biological system is at its boundary that functions to separate it from the environment. The existence of a nation as a bio-social system depends on its boundaries – its borders – being secured and protected. A primary function of national borders is to control the spread of the emotional plague from country to country.

The transformation of society from an authoritarian to anti-authoritarian and the worldwide shift of the socio-political mainstream to the political far-left has been accompanied by a catastrophic weakening and breakdown of national boundaries not only in America but throughout the Western world. Think of the European Union and of countries in the Middle East as examples of what happens socially, economically and militarily when national borders are weakened or dissolved.

The anti-authoritarian transformation has resulted in America becoming vulnerable at its southern border. The emotional plagues’ threat to the American nation is aggravated by relentless pressure from leftist ideologues who are driven to completely eliminate the border by arguing that it will “build internationalism” and “bring about world peace”.

These reasons are bogus. In fact, if successful, eliminating the border will have exactly the opposite effect. It will facilitate and accelerate the spread of the emotional plagues’ infestation from other parts of the world into America that, until now, has been prevented by effective border control. If borders are eliminated, the plague’s destructiveness to America will escalate and become out of control. The arguments from the far-left are being used as ideological weapons by the emotional plague to attack and destroy every American institution including the protective function of its borders.

The operation of the plague continues to be universally unrecognized even as its invasiveness spreads into every area of life. This is a manifestation of human cluelessness and a highly dangerous symptom of ocular pathology on a mass bio-social scale. It results in people’s inability to see the plague’s destructiveness and renders them helpless to protect themselves as the infestation is happening right in front of their eyes.

The Social Invasiveness of the Anti-authoritarian Transformation

Accompanying the break-up of the authoritarian family spearheaded by the far-left’s attack on the authority of the father in family life, the emotional plague’s invasiveness of American society is as widespread and relentless today as much as it continues to be unrecognized. Here are more destructive social consequences of the anti-authoritarian transformation:

1) The decline of patriotism in young people. According to a Gallup poll released just before the Fourth of July of this year, the share of participants who felt “extremely proud” to be an American was the lowest in the poll’s 18-year history- just 47% down from 70% in 2003. The poll found that ” the younger you are, the less likely you are to say that patriotism is a ‘very important’ value”.

From a bio-psychiatric perspective, young people who are not in touch with their good fortune and gratitude to be living in America and who don’t feel a sense of pride to be an American live in a severe state of cluelessness. They have little if any emotional contact with their biological core. The great danger to all Americans is that these youngster’s inability to feel grateful renders them incapable of defending their freedom to live as they please if the threat to America ever becomes real.

2) The rise in the suicide rate of young people. The suicide rate among young people ages 10-14 years old has increased 56% between 2007 and 2014 according to the report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Since 2007, the suicide rates in general have increased in all ages and ethnic groups during the following decade.

The reason for the rising suicide rate is unclear to child and adolescent psychiatrists. No information is being given about the early history or about the family lives of these young people, factors that are crucial to their emotional development. Not one word is said about the emotional destructiveness to youngsters resulting from the absence of contact with parental authority figures typical in today’s anti-authoritarian families. To make matters worse, leftist ideologues are never taken to task for the harm they do by systematically attacking what still remains intact of parental authority today.

3) The helplessness of mental health professionals. The people whose responsibility it is to deal with the social problems resulting from the anti-authoritarian transformation are incapable of effectively doing their job because they lack the capacity for functional thinking about the social events that are happening. What is required is a method of thinking – functional thinking – that corresponds to the way nature functions. This is contained in the science of social orgonomy.

Why is the Emotional Plague Not Seen? Part II

The emotional plague is a scientific term that has two components, a somatic one, emotional destructiveness, and a psychic one, evil. It can appear on all levels of social organization from individuals to groups including political parties. People resist recognizing the existence and destructiveness of the plague partly because the disease is present in latent form and can appear in anyone under the right circumstances. Moreover, both components must first be recognized in oneself before one can have a true understanding of the plague’s destructive operation in others. A further obstacle is that, until recently, a functional understanding of human emotional life in determining social behavior, both healthy and sick, has not existed. This knowledge is made available to the public in the new science of social orgonomy.

Environmentalism: The Mystical Collusion Between the Left and the Right

The following is an excerpt from my upcoming book, Clueless:
The emotional plague is a malignant social disease that is highly invasive from person to person and from one social institution to another. Because of the massive shift to the left in people’s thinking not only in the West but worldwide, religious mysticism in the masses – people’s faith in a better afterlife – has been replaced by secular mysticism – people’s longing for a better life in the present, in the here and now. This mystical need on the part of armored human beings gives freedom-peddling ideologists on the left an enormous political advantage.

Religious mystics on the political right, see the handwriting on the wall and realize that if they do not embrace some of the popular political ideas promoted by leftist ideologues soon, they will be left without a power base, their congregation.

In addition to being sympathetic to the world’s poor, an ideologically painless way that religious mystics on the right can become involved in secular matters is by going along with leftists on their political stand on the environment.

The Catholic Church would usually condemn blatant politicization of theological documents such as Pope Francis’ encyclical on May 24, 2015, Laudato si.’ But this time it did not. In his encyclical, he critiques people’s relentless destruction of the environment for which he blamed apathy, reckless pursuit of profit, excessive faith in technology and political shortsightedness. He unambiguously accepts the purportedly scientific consensus that climate change is largely man-made and warns of unprecedented destruction of ecosystems if climate change mitigation efforts are not taken mainly by reducing fossil fuel emissions.

Then, when President Obama announced new Clean Power Plant regulations “to help mitigate climate change” on August 3, some 170 evangelists, pastors, religion professors, non-profit directors and others, sent an open letter to the president “to offer our support and encouragement for your efforts to overcome the climate change.” President Obama responded in true faith healer style: “As Pope Francis made clear in his encyclical last summer, taking a stand against climate change is a moral obligation.”

From “Political Science” To A Science Of Politics

Politics today consists of a confused mixture of irrational and rational human ideas and drives.  This hodgepodge is erroneously called ” political science.”   However, it is now possible with our political knowledge of orgonomic sociology to have a genuine science of politics.  There are two requirements that must be fulfilled for this to happen: 1) A capacity to think functionally about natural, including political, processes. 2) An in-depth knowledge of socio-political characterology including an understanding of the emotional plague of mankind and the effect that people’s various socio-political character types have on social processes. These requirements are necessary to separate the rational function of politics from the irrationality and the widespread destructiveness of socio-politics.

The Cult Of Saul Alinsky

In order to successfully oppose the emotional plague’s social destructiveness, one must first  have a clear understanding of its mode of operation. The cult of Saul Alinsky is a perfect example of the manifestation of the organized emotional plague from the extreme left (communist) end of the socio-political spectrum.  Populated by many noted Alinsky disciples such as Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, its function is to fundamentally transform the United States of America into a socialist state.

Its first step is to penetrate  the mainstream of American life by establishing common ground with financially influential individuals and institutions and pretending to have an ideological affinity with them.  By securing a financial base, this step indicates that the plague’s infection has succeeded in taking hold of American society and is in a position to infiltrate and destroy its victim from within.

The second step is to camouflage its facade so as to appear to have the best of all intentions, a benign organization with a benevolent purpose.  No longer are they communist political activists looking to “expropriate the expropriators.”  Now, they are “community organizers” who champion “social justice for the poor and powerless masses.”  Social justice means equalizing wealth by taking from those who have more and giving it to “the disadvantaged.” Nothing is mentioned about the the work disturbance of poor people that prevents them from taking advantage of the enormous opportunities to work in America. The most basic principle of Alinsky’s advice to radicals is to lie to their opponents and disarm them by pretending to be moderates and genuine liberals.

Now, plague individuals are in a position to carry out the third and final step of their destructive operation.  This step was perfected by Alinsky when he was associated as a “mascot” with the Chicago mob where he learned their methods of extortion and intimidation in their day-to-day criminal operations.  These methods, which clearly originated from the secondary destructive layer of criminals, were cleverly applied by Alinsky to his operations as a community organizer all within the existing legal system. (The Occupy Wall Street movement is a current example of how these methods are being played out.)

President Obama was an adept practitioner with a long history of familiarity with Alinsky’s methods.  For several years Obama taught workshops on the Alinsky method.  In 1986, he was hired by the Alinsky team to organize residents on Chicago’s South Side.  His mode of operation as president closely resembles Alinsky’s and this is why liberals have to minimize Obama’s affinity for Alinsky in the upcoming presidential election.
