Communism/Socialism Is A Cancer Of The Social Body

In articles written in the Journal of Orgonomy ( Vol. 20 Nos. 1,2) entitled Cancer and Communism, I show that from a functional perspective  individuals and  societies are  biological systems and that  cancer in an individual living system is functionally identical to communism/socialism in a social system. This  identical relationship of cancer to communism  (including socialism) is valid from a bio-energetic standpoint since both conditions are examples of diseased biological systems that are in a process of bio-energetic decay and disintegration. Communism is in a more advanced state of decay than socialism.

Cancer is a systemic disease involving the whole organism.  The cancer tumor is a local symptom of the disease.  Similarly, communism/ socialism is a disease of the entire society. The various social manifestations are superficial symptoms of a diseased society.  In the cancer disease, the cancer tumor through its vascular supply continually draws off  energy from what remains alive of the healthy part of the organism eventually killing the host.  The exact same parasitic process occurs in the case of communism and of socialism in America today where people who are in need of the government for their survival including most of the public sector feed off of the productive labor of those in the private sector who are the life blood of the economy.

The strategy of today’s pseudo-liberal\communists is to  undermine people’s independence in every possible way and to foster economic dependency on the government.  For example, every one of President Obama’s socialist policies such as waiving college students loans, unionizing and increasing the number of public sector  employees, encouraging disgruntled youths to riot by supporting their rebellious social “causes” (i.e. the Occupy Wall Street movement), providing extended welfare care for the able bodied unemployed, and so on, function to worsen people’s already disturbed biological work function.

This strategy is in the service of weakening the working power of individuals and of increasing power of the Federal Government and ultimately destroying the heathy American social system that the “social cancer” feeds on.  When this happens, no one will understand how this once great nation was destroyed just as no one today understands the true cause of the cancer disease.

Why “Stimulus Packages” Do Not Work

In order to have an understanding of any kind of human activity, a sense of the three layers of the human bio-psychicic structure, the superficial layer, the destructive middle layer and the biological core is absolutely necessary.  Economic activity is no exception.  Originating from the biological core, all economic activity is a result of the productive work function operating between people.

Money has no intrinsic value.  The value of money is ultimately derived from and is sustained by people’s ability to work productively.  When the quality and the quantity of people’s work function deteriorates in any way, the value of money also declines and the nation becomes a little poorer.  Stated differently, it takes more money to do the same amount of work than before.  A commonly overlooked but serious manifestation of the general deterioration of the work function in today’s society is people’s willingness to assume a state of indebtedness to a far greater degree than a level of responsibility required to discharge the financial obligation through work.  Thus, the economic recession that is currently upon us is a direct  manifestation of people’s work disturbance in the workplace.  It is an example of an expression of the secondary destructive layer of armored humans.

The stimulus package that President Obama signed into law in 2009, the American Recovery and Reinvestment act, ABRA, has as alleged primary objective to save and create new jobs.  It’s actual way of bringing about this goal is to provide temporary relief (welfare) programs for those who are most impaired by the recession and to invest in infrastructure, education, health and “green” energy programs.  The rationale of the stimulus package is from Keynesian macroeconomic theory which argues that the government should offset the decrease in private spending by an increase in public spending in order to stop further economic deterioration.  It is an example of how liberals see all problems from  the social surface and deal with social and economic problems exclusively from their superficial layer.

Furthermore, ABRA is a clear expression of the emotional plague.  The alleged objective  of the stimulus package (to save and create more jobs) is one that no rational person can have any argument with.  However, the way that this highly idealistic goal is to be implemented, the true motive  (through increased governmental spending and instilling increased dependency of people on the Federal government through welfare and other socialist programs) is cleverly pushed into law and overlooked by almost everyone.  Nothing is  mentioned about people’s emotional neediness or of their inability to work for what they want. These are primary manifestations of people’s emotional sickness originating from their secondary destructive layer that are expressed in the social realm as the emotional plague.

By ignoring this reality and not dealing with the source of the problem (people’s underlying work disturbance) the stimulus program is likely to worsen the current economic situation.  The economic recommendations of the political right, fiscal responsibility by cutting spending and taxes and letting the market regulate itself comes closer to addressing the current economic problems of armored humanity than all the “solutions” provided by today’s leftist ideologues.

The Source Of Barack Obama’s Popularity

The source of a politician’s popularity comes from the people.  A question that is not asked is, how can an individual like Barack Obama who has performed so poorly as President of The United States in almost every area enjoy the enormous popularity that he has to the point that he actually has a good chance of being reelected to a second term in office?

In order to answer this question, it must first be known from which layer of their bio-psychic structure does people’s attraction to Obama originate, the superficial layer or facade, the destructive middle layer,or from the biological core.  Most Blacks (98%) voted for Obama in 2008.  Many of them did so because they identified with him as being Black. For them, only Obama’s blackness, not his political thinking, was the primary distinguishing feature that mattered.  This group was attracted to Obama from the superficial layer of their bio-psychic structure.

With the anti-authoritarian transformation of society, there was a breakthrough of the emotional plague  and a shift to the left of the political mainstream as leftist ideology became the dominant force driving socio-political activity in the West.  As a result, many diverse groups of all classes of people including White as well as Black leftist ideologues and particularly those in the media as well as others who somehow believed that the government should take care of them, became swept up in a political movement that ran on a vague platform of  “change” led by savior-candidate Obama.  A recent Washington Post/ABC poll shows by a 2-to-1 ratio that the president is more “friendly and likable” than Mitt Romney. These group’s attraction to Obama originate from the superficial and from the powerful destructive middle layers of their bio-psychic structure.

Thus, Obama and most if not all of his supporters have contact with each other through their superficial and middle layers.  In today’s anti-authoritarian society, the biological core of human beings has been all but obliterated from social life leaving only the superficial and destructive middle layers to determine social processes.  How long can a society last that has absolutely no undistorted contact with the biological core functions of work and love that sustain it?

Divide And Conquer: The Emotional Plague At Work

The emotional plague-ridden politician will promise anything that is necessary to gain political power over people.  Once in power he will renege on his promises and do whatever he must to carry out his destructive social agenda.  Prior to being elected President of the United States in 2008, for example, Barack Obama promised Americans that he would bring about unity of the different factions that were tearing America apart.  Since his election, Obama has consistently done exactly the opposite.  He has deliberately generated social divisiveness, turning Americans against one another and exacerbating political polarization in every area of social life.

On the top of his list of groups to be alienated in this way are the “Haves” from the “Have-Nots.”  Typical of the emotional plague’s way of operating, this way of dividing people is calculated to generate confusion in people’s minds (what groups are we talking about?) and also to provide a rationalization justifying the right of government to legally enter into the free market and shift wealth and power from one group, arbitrarily designated as ” the rich,” to another group, ” the poor” which includes, incidentally, those who are currently in political power. All of this is being covered over in the name of tax fairness, social justice and caring for ” the people.”

These rationalizations are designed to get the political support of an unsuspecting electorate many of whom because of their pre-existing armored perceptual structure honestly believe in the truth of these lofty ideals and mindlessly go along.  An ideological alliance is thereby established between the power hungry politician and the masses of well-intentioned people who have no idea what is happening.

It’s The People

All through human history, people have shown to be incapable of governing themselves without an authority figure  such as a monarch or a cleric to watch over and care for them.  This is true more than ever in today’s anti-authoritarian transformation of Western society with the social breakdown of authoritarian democratic governments.

The underlying reason that people are unable to govern themselves without a leader in authority is because they are emotionally too crippled (armored) and therefore are unable to regulate themselves.  Accompanying this need for compulsive regulation, people have always looked outside, never inward, to seek the source of their social problems.  This tendency to externalize their personal problems is now greater than ever in today’s highly politicized anti-authoritarian society where people are looking for political solutions for almost every social problem.  Because of differences in their socio-political character structures, (differences in armoring), people are divided into two ideological camps: the political left or the right. Now, they end up blaming each other for social problems.

With the breakdown of the authoritarian social order and the disappearance of authority figures on the local level for people to rely on, many are unable to responsibly take care of their lives.  This is the reason for the breakthrough of socially destructive impulses such as criminal impulsivity and helplessness in today’s anti-authoritarian social order.  This social  situation results in the need for a high level leader in government to watch over and care for people.  This situation is ripe for a secular “savior” to appear on the social scene.  At this point a clever political figure with nothing else to offer as his credentials but a blank slate upon which the crippled masses can project their mystical longing to be cared for and given “hope,” appears on the political stage.  Barack Obama promises to do exactly that.

It is not only the power hungry politician that is responsible for bringing about the destruction of our great nation.  Equally important are the emotionally sick masses who are unable to work productively.  These people either unconsciously or consciously confer power to the politician.  The criminal group confers power to the politician by creating the need for federal regulations which interferes with the market while the helpless group does so by mystically believing in the savior’s miraculous  goodness and his ability to care for and save them.  The criminally irresponsible and helpless  masses of armored humanity who are incapable of doing an honest days work are the ones  largely responsible for bringing about the enslavement of an entire society that is happening in front of our eyes and creating a socialist state.

America And Russia In The 21st Century

In 1991, the Communist Party was outlawed in Russia and the Soviet Union ceased to exist.  Since that time, Russia has been struggling to shed its communist past after the horrors of 70 years of totalitarian rule. With the election of Barack Obama as President of the United States and of numerous high ranking leftist political leaders to Congress in 2008 posing as genuine liberals, America is in the process of descending headlong into becoming a communist state. The situation is even more frightening if one considers that America, under Ronald Reagan as president, was the country that largely brought down the Soviet regime only two decades before.  Today, America is not only completely defenseless against the communist threat but moreover, is in danger of becoming a communist state  itself similar to the past Soviet Union.  Why is this happening?

It is not possible, according to conventional thinking, to understand why these opposing currents in the two countries are happening.  The phenomenon has to do with the highly infectious nature of the emotional plague; the emotional plague individuals on the one hand and the emotional sickness of people that the plague individuals can take hold of politically on the other. The emotional sickness of people involves the  segment of the American population who are unable to work and be responsible for their economic survival.  That their inability to work is a real sickness is shown by the fact that in America the opportunity to work and succeed is readily available to anyone who is willing to make the necessary effort.  Emotional plague individuals, in the person of leftist politicians, promise that they are the ones to care for people. Through socialistic legislation they take wealth from those who are able to work productively in the private sector and transfer it to those who are not. Nothing is done to address people’s emotionally based work disturbance as the descent into a socialist state continues unchecked.

The Portrait Of A Political Demigod

According to The Random House Dictionary, a demigod is more than human. He is a deified mortal. Many politicians appear to be demigods when they are campaigning for public office, but once the election is over, they stop acting like that, whether they have won or lost.  The true political demigod, on the other hand, has a constellation of permanent characteristics that is unique.  1) He has no history of a stable, consistent work function prior to entering politics.  2) Politics is a substitute for genuine work.  3) His political mission is entirely self-serving to fit his preexisting ideological world view.  4) He has an overriding hatred of and a need to change the established world order with grandiose schemes of a heaven on earth.  5) He is convinced of the infallibility of his belief system.  6) The success of his  campaign strategy is based on promising the electorate anything and everything for the sole purpose of gaining power over them.

This strategy is designed to cement a powerful identification of the demigod with the electorate.  Once he has succeeded in this strategy, the demigod has attained a godlike stature.  He can do no wrong in the eyes of the populace.  Demigods can appear on both sides of the political spectrum.  In today’s anti-authoritarian society with the marked shift of the political mainstream to the left of center, demigods are likely to appear from the political left.  Barack Obama is a recent example of the appearance of a demigod from the political left.

Obama’s choice of work before entering politics was that of a political activist.  According to his wife Michelle, Obama was a community activist exploring the viability of politics to make [social] change. ” The solution to every problem,” according to a reporter who studied Obama’s projects, ” was a distribution of government funds.”   Until he became a full time legislator in 1996, Obama’s primary focus of work was Acorn, the largest radical organization in the United States. The infallibility of his belief system originates entirely from his highly developed intellect. At the height of his election campaign, he announced:  “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”  Just prior to his entering the White House, in a moment of candor he said: ” We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.”  In his election campaign he appealed to the entire electorate and promised that if he were elected president he would finally put an end to the political divisiveness that was tearing America apart. Once elected, however, he did exactly the opposite.  He immediately proceeded to ram his socialistic medical agenda (ObamaCare) down the throat of the American people  (which he later said will be for the good of everyone) and dramatically  increased the authority and spending power of the Federal Government at the expense of the private sector.

Personally, he exhibits overt contempt for American policies internationally and for hard working, decent American people in general.   The effect of this attitude is to chastise Americans.  An emotional plague tactic, it is an attempt to induce an unconscious sense of guilt and paralysis and to make Americans feel that whatever they are doing is somehow wrong.  According to him, Americans have to change their ways.  If they would only follow him, President Obama is the one capable of redeeming Americans of their evil past deeds.  He is also the only one capable of providing all Americans with an illusion of economic security while, at the same time, making them ever more dependent and under the control of the Federal Government with people like him at the top.

The problem that confronts us is not the political demigod.  It is the helplessness of armored people that makes it possible for demigods to regularly appear on the social scene.  The political interaction of the demigod with helpless, socially dependent people who are emotionally out of touch with themselves is what enables the demigod to exist.

The Emotional Plague Uses The Truth As A Trojan Horse

There is always a grain of truth to the emotional plague individual’s point of view and in order to understand and fight the plague it is important to see what it is.  This truth serves to demonstrate to everyone that the plague individual’s intentions are pure and above reproach and that what they are saying and agitating for is for the good of all.  A recent example of this tactic of the plague is President Obama’s telling the American people that ObamaCare will be good for everyone.  The use of the truth in the service of the plague is the reason that Thomas Sowell refers to leftist ideologues as “the anointed ones”.  The germ of truth expressed from their facade functions like a Trojan Horse to push through their destructive socio-political agenda from their middle layer.

The basic premise of leftist radicals is that America is by its very nature a corrupt nation because the “Haves” have taken from the “Have Nots” and therefore, in order to do away with this injustice a class warfare must take place between them.  This war must become actualized with violent acts when necessary in order to remove the inequality even if America is  destroyed in the process.

It is true that there is corruption in America and that some people have more wealth than others and that there is economic inequality.  These facts although true are twisted and used to justify bringing about America’s destruction by reducing everyone to the same level.  However, what is accurate in all of this is not what the leftists accuse America of, but that they are accusing America of their own evil impulses contained in their destructive middle layer.  These impulses are projected onto well-to-do people in America to bring about its destruction.

Why do they want to destroy America? Because the impulses of hatred and of revenge that originate from within them which were first directed against their own fathers are now by extension directed against all authority figures and authoritative institutions and, also against “the rich” so that no one is “better off”  than they are.

Protest Movements, Then And Now

From a historical perspective, there is an important difference between the protest movement of the  1960s and the current Occupy Wall Street protest movement.  This can be understood as a result of the transformation of society from authoritarian to anti-authoritarian that occurred around that time.  Both protest movements originate from a serious disturbance in the two basic functions of human life, sexuality and work.

The protesters of the 60s were a a product of the authoritarian social order.  Initially, they were a highly idealistic group of young people who wanted sexual freedom  (a core function) and to be rid of the shackles of conventional morality.  Tragically, the movement ended in disaster individually, because most of these youngsters were too disturbed emotionally to achieve sexual happiness and socially, because the movement was taken over and used for political purposes by leftist ideologues.  These  were the reasons for the failure of the so-called sexual revolution.

By contrast, today’s protesters are a product of the post-1960s, anti-authoritarian social order.  Unable to take advantage of the enormous amount of freedom and opportunity that is readily available to them in America, they want the exact opposite.  Many of them evidence a severe disturbance in their work function because the thought of working to have what they want never seems to occur to them.  Instead, they want the security of being taken care of by the government.  In sharp contrast to the earlier protesters, security is more important to them than freedom.  This is the reason that a large majority of these protesters are leftist ideologues.

The Wall Street protesters are an emotionally far sicker bunch than the protesters of the past.  Having no contact with their core, the energy behind their protesting comes entirely from their middle layer as bratty destructiveness.  The last thing that these protesters need is to have their childish behavior encouraged.  This is exactly what the Obama administration seems to be doing.  If economic conditions continue to worsen, as they most likely will if Obama is reelected in 2012, this group has the potential of doing even greater social harm by escalating their interference with public life.

The Economic Blueprint Of The Obama Administration

In order to have a true understanding of social events one has to look at the effects or consequences of these events; that is, one has to think functionally.  Recognizing President Obama’s economic strategy is clear to anyone who looks carefully at the consequences of his policies.  Consisting of four parts, the first three originate from his secondary destructive layer.  The fourth from his superficial layer or facade.

Part One:  Weaken and control the private sector by placing unnecessary obstacles (“regulations”) in the way of the free market.  Encourage government dependency by increasing the numbers of workers in the public sector and  unionizing government employees.  Shifting power to the public sector has the effect of increasing the political power of his presidency.

Part Two:  Encourage political activism.  Create social agitation and chaos by instituting unrealistic, unworkable  social  programs that will inevitably result in increased unemployment and social unrest.  Through political activism, mobilize society by turning people against each other and against capitalism.  This is reminiscent of the class struggle tactic used by old-time communists.  The anti-capitalist Occupy Wall Street movement was abetted by a recent speech given by Obama himself against Wall Street financial institutions.  Breaking the entire underpinning of America’s economic strength by destroying its financial system is rationalized as justifiable because of a handful of corrupt businessmen. Would it not make more sense to punish the wrongdoers instead of destroying the entire financial system of the country?  Social agitation used in the service of government takeover was another tactic well-known to old-time communists.

Part Three: “Rescue” the country from the economic mess by instituting more socialistic programs.

Part Four:  Use the democratic process itself as a weapon.  The administration pretends that they are all loyal Americans  and that they are doing all this because it is for the best interest of the country.

One of the greatest tragedies in recent history is that two decades after winning the Cold War against a deadly socialist empire, America should fall victim to the same dreadful disease from within.
