Can ISIS Be Defeated?

Before Islamic Fascism in the form of ISIS can be eradicated one must first know how it originates. Armed with the knowledge of socio-political characterology, it is possible to understand how Islamic Fascist states can erupt seemingly out of nowhere and organize from their endemic form of the emotional plague in Muslim families to become a social epidemic

The following social conditions are necessary:
1) The family life from which Islamic Fascism organizes must be strictly authoritarian and strongly sex-negative.
2) The government that is in power must be weak and vulnerable. Living conditions must be desperate with broken authoritarian families, human suffering, uncertain work opportunities and high levels of anxiety in the population.
3) There must be a strong longing for a better life in a large segment of the younger population that, because of the presence of armor, cannot be practically achieved. These social conditions are the breeding ground for high energy, sexually frustrated, wayward youth to turn their dissatisfaction outward and look for some higher social cause to fight. They are raw material ready to be indoctrinated by jihadist ideological fanatics many of whom have been educated in anti-authoritarian western society and are familiar with and react hatefully to what they see as it’s sexual depravity.
4) The unrestrained freedom of people living in the free world is emotionally intolerable and felt as a provocation to many young Muslims who are brought up under sexually repressive social conditions.
5) The charismatic Islamic Fascist leader is ready to provide the excitation and focus that these young men are anxiously looking for. The ideologue redirects the young people’s pent-up feelings of longing for a better life into murderous hatred of the chosen victim.

Without taking these factors into consideration, dealing with the problem of ISIS can only be a matter of symptom removal of eradicating individual Muslim terrorists not of addressing the underlying disease, the emotional plague of sexually frustrated Muslim youths.

President Trump Vs the Emotional Plague: Round One

Everyone has character armor through which the individual relates to the world. It is important to know a person’s character structure particularly if he happens to be a political leader. Identification of the politician’s individual and socio-political character tells us how well he is fit to function at his job.

What we know about President Trump’s character as a father, successful businessman, presidential candidate and the first days of his presidency, tells us that he is a high energy, phallic narcissistic character with an oral unsatisfied block. From the perspective of socio-politics, he is a conservative belonging on the political right. As such, he is authoritarian and, unlike his predecessor, openly in charge of his aggression. A product of the old authoritarian social order, Trump has a sense of the absolute distinction between right and wrong. Additionally, we know that he loves his country indicating that he has a degree of contact with his biological core and that, therefore, his “heart is in the right place” regarding his job qualifications as president.

These basic traits are sufficient to explain how he will function as president. Largely because of his high energy level and his experiences in business, he attempts to overcome the armored trappings of partisan politics by forcefully overriding them. Unfortunately, because of his impatience and his oral unsatisfied block – he brags, is over talkative and exaggerates – he gives people the false impression that he is unstable and opens himself to ridicule.

However, what really drives his leftist opponents crazy is that he is overtly aggressive to the point of being contentious and is shamelessly authoritarian. For example, he deals with the terrorist problem by declaring a ban on all Muslims from entering the United States; he deals with the immigration problem by announcing that he will build a wall between America and Mexico; he is outspokenly pro-American, etc.

A central feature of leftist ideology is their hatred of open aggression and their fear of genuine authority. In leftists, these natural human functions are repressed by a new layer of social armor, the relative morality of political correctness. The undischarged hatred contained in the leftist’s armor is redirected at anyone who claims to be a real authority. Unknown to Trump, this is the emotional plague that is out to destroy him and the authority of the executive office that he stands for. Even without knowledge of the plague, however, Trump seems to have a sense of the plague. This is recognizable in his forceful opposition to leftist attacks from the media.

The Function of Partisan Politics (Politics as Usual)

The common use of the terms, politics and political activity is fraught with confusion because they contain elements from the three layers of the human bio-psychic apparatus, the biological core, the destructive middle layer and the superficial layer. Without making this distinction, politics and political activity becomes a public side-show and a confused spectacle of rational and irrational ideas and behaviors often resulting in the
activation of the emotional plague from the middle layer

Partisan politics is based on the idea that the adversarial forces of the left and the right are necessary to arrive at political decisions. The problem with partisan politics is that it often contains impulses from the politician’s middle layer. When personal feelings of revenge of a neurotic phallic narcissist politician are played out in the political arena as partisan politics it is a clear sign that the emotional plague is in operation. In this case, the politician’s socially destructive personal and financial interests are covered over by his alleged political convictions.

Partisan politics worked fairly well in the past authoritarian social order because social issues had not yet developed a layer of social armor which we recognize today as socio-politics and also because there were approximately equal numbers of socio-political character types (liberals and conservatives) in the opposing Democratic and Republican Party’s. The balance of power between the left and the right was supported by the authoritarian social order. Politicians operated according to their predetermined individual character structure within their party. Nevertheless, despite their ideological differences members of both parties were of one mind in their respect and love for America indicating that their biological core was more or less present in their political decision making process.

This is no longer the case in today’s anti-authoritarian society. With the political shift to the left firmly established, political ideas and activity originating from the biological core are becoming difficult to recognize. They have been replaced by political extremism and people using politics – socio-politics – to find solutions for personal problems that originate from their own destructive, middle and superficial layers. Today, this trend is becoming the rule for people on the political right just as it was true in the past for people on the political left. Politics and political activity is replacing religion as the modern “solution” for each and every individual and social problem.

With the polarization and decline of Western society accelerating, the absurdity of conducting “politics as usual” is slowly dawning on the public as the confusion being generated by the emotional plague has infiltrated every aspect of political life.

Post-Election Stress Disorder

The widespread protests and violence by leftists on all social levels including campus students in response to the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States is an example of people suffering from Post-Election Stress Disorder (PESD), the latest symptom of the anti-authoritarian transformation of American society.

Aside from engaging in social demonstrations, the syndrome consists in people huddling together in “support groups” bemoaning their fate and commiserating with each other.
For these protestors,Trump’s persona contains all of the characteristics of authoritarian figures that are reviled and feared by leftists.

What these protesters actually fear, however, is taking charge of their own lives and advancing themselves. They fear the opportunities that that they have to benefit from living freely in America.

A symptom of their underlying need for less personal and social freedom is that these protesters are oblivious – clueless – of the terrifying emotional forces within them that are underlying their protestations.

Many have a serious work disturbance. Contemptuous of others who know and work for what they want, they demand the exact opposite of freedom: greater security. There is a poorly disguised desire to be cared for by society because they are emotionally too crippled and irresponsible to care for themselves. A sign of their work disturbance is that the thought of working for what they want rarely occurs to them because they are too caught up in protesting.

Full of disdain for the police who risk their lives protecting them and others, and inflamed by the media to act out in socially destructive demonstrations, they often break the law and choose to side with criminals. Justifying their actions, through the morality of political correctness as a “moral right,” they accuse the hated authority figures of racism and worse. They would rather put their energy into protesting social causes and be mindlessly influenced by leftist ideologues than focus on what they can do to improve their lives – a sign of severe ocular armor.

The Political Advantages of the Left

The following are some of the advantages of the political left in today’s world:
1) All public interactions take place on the social surface and leftist’s are able to operate successfully from that layer of their bio-psychic apparatus.
2) Because today’s society is anti-authoritarian, the political mainstream has shifted far to the left. Partisan battles involving social issues are often fought between political opponents who belong in varying degrees on the political left and therefore, espouse different degrees of the same basic socialistic ideas.
3) The shift of the political mainstream to the far left has legitimized the radical left in politics. Now called “progressives” or “socialists,” these radicals, in full view of a clueless public, are able run as candidates in the Democratic Party in the 2016 election for the office of president of the United States and include the current President himself.
4) Arriving at decisions collectively is comfortable for leftists. When it comes to politics, they are herd animals and behave as a group at election time. As long as they are being taken care of collectively by their leaders there is little effort involved in just going along with the tide of the mainstream left’s welfarist thinking. By being politically mindless and taking the easy way out, they can maintain their self-complacency, avoid looking at the degradation in the world and still believe in their political claptrap.
5) For the same reason, leftists cannot learn anything from the past. In the September 2016 Issue of the New Criterion, Gary Saul Morson writes: “Our knowledge of Bolshevik horrors expanded dramatically when, after the fall of the Soviet Union, its archives were opened. Jonathan Brent and Yale University Press brought out volume after volume of chilling documents, but public opinion did not noticeably change. How many readers of The New York Times know about its role in covering up the worst of Stalin’s crimes and earning a Pulitzer Prize (still unreturned) for doing so?
I understand being so carried away by Communist ideals that one denies or justifies millions of deaths. What amazes me is that people and publications who have done so still feel entitled to criticize others from a position of moral superiority.”

The reason that the author of this article is amazed about the leftists behavior of moral superiority is that he lacks an understanding of Dr. Elsworth Baker’s discovery of socio-political characterology first published in chapter 13 in his book, “Man in the Trap.”.

The Political Effects of the Two Party System’s Demise

Knowledge of socio-political character is essential to understand and prevent the destructiveness in American politics.

The two paty system in America functioned in the past authoritarian social order to maintain a balance of power between the opposing ideological forces of the left and right. It began to disintegrate around 1960 accompanying the anti-authoritarian transformation of society. This resulted in the political mainstream in the entire nation to shift leftward. The Democratic Party became infiltrated by politicians from the extreme left. They were pseudo-liberal/communist characters who took over that party. This produced an imbalance between the opposing forces of the left and right and the two party system was destroyed.

The shift to the left in the American mainstream is responsible for how a full-fledged communist masquerading as a bona-fide liberal character was able to win the American presidential elections in 2008 and 2012. It also explains how two of the least qualified candidates were chosen by the ever-clueless public to be their president. One is a leftist extremist with psychopathic, criminal tendencies; the other is an individual with poor impulse control and questionable good judgement. Both are populist candidates catering to the whims of “the people.”

Once again, the emotional plague is victorious as American politics has lost any semblance of rationality. Americans can now look forward to an even sicker, multiparty, european-style political system in future elections.

Understanding Trump’s Strategy for 2016

From a socio-political standpoint, Trump is a conservative character who is also a populist. To have a sense of Trump’s strategy for the presidency requires an understanding of socio-political characterology and the antiauthoritarian transformation of Western society.

In the past authoritarian era, there were roughly equal numbers of liberals and conservatives in both political parties. This is how the two party system worked to maintain a balance of power between the opposing ideological forces of the left and right.

With the anti-authoritarian transformation that started in America around 1960, the Democratic Party began it’s shift to the extreme political left and the Republican Party soon followed and moved leftward. The significance of this so-called socio-political red-shift was that there was no longer any ideological difference between the two parties. Politicians in the Democratic Party continued to peddle their outworn socialist programs and like-minded politicians in the Republican Party tried to play “catch up” by promoting their own version of leftist-oriented policies.

People who were fed up with the old system of “politics as usual” began wanting something new from their politicians. They looked to outsiders like Donald Trump as someone who seemed to not buy into what was being offered by traditional party politicians.

But, the result of the anti-authoritarian transformation of society was that the two party system became a thing of the past and people are more clueless than ever about it’s demise.

By contrast, what Trump intuitively understood in this new environment was that in order to make contact and win over the electorate people must be realigned not according to conventional political parties but, on a deeper, more inclusive level according to their individual, pre-existing socio-political character structure.

This is where an understanding of socio-political characterology is essential. Based on people’s socio-political character structure, liberals and conservatives have diametrically opposed ways of viewing the world. The liberal relates to his environment primarily from his intellect. He is a collectivist and, in the past authoritarian era, had a mechanistic view of the world. The conservative relates to his environment primarily from his emotions. He has a selective attitude toward others and a mystical view of the world.

In order to win, Trump must convince characterologic conservatives, like himself, that he is one of them. This is where his anti-intellectual, emotional, shooting-from-the-hip manner and his strong pro-American bias are a plus. However, from a bio-psychiatric perspective, Trump is either an oral unsatisfied, phallic narcissistic character or a manic depressive character. Regarding his diagnosis, the important questions are these: Is he capable of controlling the destructiveness to his political reputation as a leader resulting from his shooting-off at the mouth? Is he capable to hear the ideas of others? These questions go directly to the heart of his capacity for the good judgement that is a requirement for the job.

Another unknown factor is that liberals no longer adhere only to the mechanistic view of the world. They have embraced mysticism as part of their leftist armamentarium in the “save the world,” “green” environmental movements. With the decline of traditional, religious mysticism, the political left has gained a silent but powerful force in the ideology of secular mysticism that Trump with all his usual contentiousness must contend with.

Why Can’t They “Get It” ?

Why is the anti-authoritariam transformation of Western society happening in front of everyone’s face and no one recognizes it?The reason is that people are caught up in their own political battle between the left and the right and, because of that, each side has a vested interest in not seeing it.

The left cannot see the transformation because they are part and parcel of the forefront that is endorsing it.The right cannot see the transformation because their character structure is the product of what remains of the authoritarian social order which they are desperately trying to preserve.

This is another destructive example of our “politics as usual.”

Obama and Sanders: Same Old, Same Old

The difference between a communist and a socialist is that communists want a violent overthrow of governments while socialists want a gradual overthrow. In our antiauthoritarian society governments are already in a state of advanced disintegration and so the term, communist is no longer applicable. Today, a socialist is the correct term to be used to describe these leftist radicals.

Barack Obama entered the political arena in the first decade of the 21th century when, with the help of the media, he successfully passed himself off as a liberal. This was a time when the threat of communism was being erased from the minds of the American public and rapidly becoming a word from the past. From a sociopolitical diagnostic standpoint, he was correctly identified at that time as a pseudo-liberal/communist. Today, with the antiauthoritarian transformation of society in full swing and the continuing breakdown of nations worldwide, socialist would be the apt term to describe people like him and others such as Hillary Clinton.

The gradual disintegration of the authoritarian social order and the continuing shift to the far left in the political mainstream are the reasons that a socialist named Bernie Sanders can come out of the closet and be championed by a far-left minded public as a legitimate political candidate.

But what is changing is not the character structure of the old time, freedom peddling politicians – the product – but the increasing demand – the market – of the helpless masses, young and old, who believe that they will be taken care of by this new/old order.

The 2016 Presidential Campaign

No matter how deafening the background noise is about the 2016 presidential campaign, the undercurrent that must be heard loud and clear through all the distractive clamor are the emotionally charged issues of morality. There is a deeper and more powerful political motive force behind all the political clap trap that is currently being presented on the social surface by the politicians, the pundits and the media.
Whether they know it or not, the presumptive candidates, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, are already lined up according to whether they believe in the old absolute morality of the past authoritarian world or in the new politically correct, relative morality of the current anti-authoritarian era.
These two moralities are entirely different ways of viewing and dealing with the world. They generate the ideological divide that unconsciously pits the political left and right against each other. Casting America into two irreconcilable, opposing groups, this social force from the human depths is the ultimate governor of people’s ideas and behavior. It must be consciously recognized, understood and resolved before social conditions can improve.

Why are Republicans Confused about Trump?

In order to clarify the confusion about the legitimacy of Trump’s candidacy, knowledge of a person’s individual and socio-political character structure is essential. Two questions need to be answered positively:

1) Regarding the quality of his judgement, is Trump a phallic narcissistic character with an oral unsatisfied block, a manic depressive (“bi-polar”) character or an out-and-out sociopathic character? (See my blog, Apropos of Donald Trump, February 18, 2016.)

2) Regarding his political attitudes, is Trump somewhere on the conservative right of the political spectrum? The answer is definitely yes.

Satisfactorily answering these questions is essential to deal with the political destructiveness of the emotional plague that is ready to erupt and create havoc over people’s confusion regarding Trump’s candidacy. In any case, considering that the alternative to Trump is either a criminal or a socialist, the choice is not clear.

The Natural Function of a Political Leader

A political leader such as The President of the United States is a person whose natural executive function is increasingly becoming unclear. This is because the rational, core function of politics which is the science of governing people, is being confused with irrational expectations and needs of a clueless, emotionally sick public.

Examples of rational, core executive functions include safeguarding people’s independence, freedom and responsibility. Examples of irrational, destructive executive functions include catering to the public’s pathological helplessness and dependency needs which,in effect, is a self-serving, “political” tactic. The political left has perfected the art of welfare politics. Having nothing better to offer, the right is quickly learning to playing catch up. The focus of looking for political solutions is the reason that politicians are losing people’s respect.

But politics can never be the answer. Knowledge of people’s underlying socio-political character structure is essential because it helps to distinguish between the primary, rational functions that people can expect from their political leaders versus their own irrational, secondary, destructive drives and need to be taken care of which they project onto them. This crucial distinction is obscured by the endless ideological battles between the political left and the right. This is a manifestation of social armor.

Without making this distinction, politics degenerates into “socio-politics,” a spectacle that we are witnessing in today’s election year. The cluelessness of the politician regarding his natural function as political leader is a symptom of the same cluelessness of the public that elects him.

In selecting a president, the key question becomes: Is there a candidate that protects the functions of independence, freedom, and responsibility of the American people?

The Young and the Clueless

In “The Young and the Economically Clueless,” (Wall Street Journal February 20-21, 2016) regarding the overwhelming political support of young people for Bernie Sanders, Daniel Arbess asks: “Why are young people voting against their own interests?”

The writer cannot answer the contradiction posed by his question because it is outside the economic realm. He is unfamiliar with two important sociological facts that are discussed in my last book, “Neither Left Nor Right”:
1. The primary determinant of an individual’s social and political thinking and behavior is his socio-political character structure.
2. The anti-authoritarian transformation of Western civilization that occurred around 1960.

This transformation, the result of the so-called ‘sexual revolution,’ was accompanied by the almost complete destruction of the authoritarian family and, with this, a dramatic shift to the left in the political thinking of mainstream Americans. This culminated, in 2008, with the presidential election of a full-fledged, pseudo/liberal communist, Barack Obama.

The clueless young were not in a position to have learned anything about the destructiveness of Obama’s or Bernie Sander’s socialism because, as the writer notes, the eldest of these young people were in elementary school when the Soviet Union collapsed. Moreover, they are generally clueless about the significance of historical events.

More importantly, these children are the product of the baby boomer generation that were growing up during the 60’s. Many of these were the product of broken homes and therefore had little or no parental, authoritative guidance in their development. What many of these offspring experienced was just the opposite, brattiness and rebelliousness in their parents.

Bernie Sanders, a self-claimed socialist, is the ideal role model as a leader for these helpless, clueless young people. Incapable of caring for themselves, Sanders becomes the all giving,”free lunch” father that, in their clueless eyes, will take care of them. The economic stresses that these young people face in today’s times merely intensifies their anxieties about the future, justifies their anger at the world and increases Sander’s attractiveness to them.

Apropos of Donald Trump

Individual and socio-political character are the primary determinants of an individual’s, including politician’s, thinking and behavior. For example, is presidential candidate, Donald Trump simply a shrewd, controlling bully in full charge of himself regarding his bid for the presidency or is he just a loose cannon and a blowhard? This distinction depends on whether he is simply a phallic narcissistic character with an oral unsatisfied block, a manic depressive (“bi-polar”) character or a sociopathic character.

In the first case his judgment would be intact and would not detrimentally affect his job as president. In the second and third cases he would be a disaster. We need to know more about his decision making process and his past history in order to determine his capacity for good judgement.

The Mystery of the Missing Radicals on the Left

When radicalization is ever discussed in the news it is always understood in terms of extremists on the right. But are there radicals on the left and if there are any, where are they? The answer is that they do exist but now they are in full view of everyone and are often placed in positions of great power such as candidates in the Democratic Party running for the office of president of the United States and the current President himself. Instead of being referred to for what they are, these radical leftists are now called “progressives” or “socialists.”

Radicals on the left are not identified for what they are because of the shift of the political mainstream to the extreme left of center. These radicals politically blend in imperceptibly with today’s social mainstream. The ever shifting leftward of society is supported and maintained by a new form of social armor that was instituted by leftists, the morality of political correctness.

The Functional Relation Between the Emotional Plague on the Left and Right

The following excerpt is from my forthcoming book, “Clueless”:
The emotional plague individual on the left operates subversively using his intellect to instill confusion either by political action or by inaction. The emotional plague individual on the right operates overtly using his emotions to instill terror through political reaction. For example, the Islamic State (ISIS) movement which operates from the far right originated from Muslim militants in response to the transformation of Western Society from authoritarian to anti-authoritarian which was accompanied by a shift of the political mainstream to the far left.

These extremists reacted emotionally and murderously to what they saw as a threat to their way of life. A manifestation of the emotional plague from the political right, their barbaric actions suddenly caught the attention of a clueless public in the western world by generating terror.

Meanwhile, the free world led by our feckless, left wing president choses to focus not on the terrorist threat and the need to join and support the anti-ISIS forces against the Islamic fanatics but on ousting the Syrian president Bashar al-Assad. He insists on this condition before he is willing to consider a military alliance. Knowing that he does not stand a chance to depose Assad, Obama’s political “action” is a disguised form of inaction. It is a destructive example of the emotional plague from the left because it generates confusion about what must be done. It effectively undermines the anti-ISIS coalition’s efforts to crush the terrorist organization militarily.

The Degeneration of the True Liberal into Pseudo-liberal/communism

Why are some liberals capable of consistently
maintaining their true liberal socio-political character structure and others easily shift to the political extreme left and function like pseudo-liberal communist characters?
One reason is that the liberal character lives almost entirely in his superficial layer. As a result, he has little core contact and his thinking is either mechanistic or mystical. Those liberals who have mystical tendencies in their thinking will readily shift to the political left and join the “heaven on earth,” freedom peddling mantra of the pseudo-liberal/ communist. Those liberals who have no mystical tendencies will keep their true liberal identity and will often support the destructive social policies of their cohorts on the extreme left and vote for them but when pressed for a rational reason will not be able to justify why they are doing so.

Understanding The Function of Terrorists and Terrorism

America is in a state of undeclared war with Islamo-fascist fanatics in the Middle East. The war is being waged on two fronts, militarily and ideologically. To understand the ideological war, it is necessary to have knowledge of socio-political characterology and of the emotional plague. Terrorists are Islamo-fascists belonging to the extreme right of the socio-political spectrum. The zealous fascist with his mystical reactionary belief system represents the ultimate in destructive rebelliousness. Terrorism is a manifestation of the emotional plague and it functions by paralyzing and immobilizing its victims through a frightening demeanor, terrifying threats and horrific acts of terror.
Those who are most terrified and likely to be terrorized are the liberal and other leftist characters in the Free World who, because of their pre-existing characterologically-based fear of forceful aggression, will use their rational powers to justify doing nothing and remaining helplessly immobilized at this critical time.
They are behaving in the exact same manner today as they did in England in the 1930s when Hitler was doing the same thing in Europe.

Chastising Obama Is Not The Answer

In the August 2-3 2014 issue of the Wall Street Journal “Out of Many, Two?,” Peggy Noonan writes: “The president shouldn’t be using a fateful and divisive word like “impeachment” to raise money and rouse his base. He shouldn’t be at campaign-type rallies where he speaks only to his base, he should be speaking to the country. He shouldn’t be out there dropping his g’s. slouching around a podium. complaining about his ill treatment, describing his opposition with disdain: Stop just hat’in all the time.”

But what if this is exactly how Obama feels and what he wants to do? The thought is too horrible and unbelievable for most people even to imagine. The question goes directly to Obama’s socio-political character structure, without an understanding of which, nothing can make sense. Noonan does not see the significance of the contempt toward America in Obama’s behavior. She does not see that she is hated by Obama and the entire anti-authoritarian mainstream exactly because she is associated with the past authoritarian social order. Reasoning with them is not possible because it does not stop the hate. It intensifies the divisiveness and is a political dead end.

Are All Arabs The Same?

There is currently widespread confusion regarding how Arabs are to be viewed. The simple answer is that there are two kinds of Arabs, those that have a live and let live attitude and those who identify themselves as political Muslims and have their allegiance to Islam. The former group knows the distinction between religion and the state. The latter group identifies the Muslim religion with the state and believes that it must expand and conquer the world by killing all nonbelievers if necessary.

The question brings up the importance of understanding socio-political characterology without which it is not possible to make any sense of what is happening with Arabs in the Middle East and in America. Because of their strong tribal roots and their strict authoritarian upbringing, most Arabs belong in varying degrees on the right of the socio-political spectrum. Beginning with the conservative Arab to the immediate right of center, there is the extreme conservative followed by the reactionary and finally the Islamo-fascist on the extreme right.

As we proceed from the right of center to the extreme right, the Arab’s social functioning becomes rigidified and cut off from all contact with corrupting Western influences. The separation between secular and religious law becomes increasingly blurred and the individual’s work and sexual functioning becomes more restricted. His ability to assimilate into Western ways becomes more difficult as his need to have Allah be responsible for his life reveals his underlying emotional and economic helplessness. The Islamo-fascist who says ” I love death more than life” is his way of expressing his total emotional intolerance of the freedom that there is to be had in Western democratic societies.  Seeing it as degenerate, he is sympathetic to other Arabs who want to destroy it. For him, secular ideology and religious moral law are one and the same.

The Islamo-fascist is an emotional plague character on the political extreme right. Here are some of the favorite slogans used by these ideologues to disarm America: “Islam has always been a part of America,” “Islam is not part of the problem  in combating extremism – it is an important part in promoting peace,” “Throughout history, Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds the possibilities of religious tolerance and racial equality.” These statements are effective because they all have a grain of truth in them and that is all it takes for liberal-minded Americans to give them the benefit of doubt.

However, the Islamo-fascist has no contact with his biological core. Cut off from his natural sexual feelings, he operates entirely from his secondary destructive layer and his ideology originates from it. The following are some examples: “All people are born Muslim and start off as pure but they become corrupted by living in a world of infidels. It is the duty of all good Muslims to bring them back to the ways of the Prophet.” “The world including most Muslim societies are in a state of racial impurity and it is our holy duty to cleanse it.”

According to Reich, “The ideology …of purity is the ideology of asexuality, of ‘sexual purity.’  it is, basically, a result of patriarchal authoritarian sexual suppression and sexual anxiety… the core of fascist race theory is a mortal terror of natural sexuality and its orgasm function.”

We can add that, in the case of Islamic race ideology and in contrast to the purity of Muslims, infidels including all Westerners are equated with racially impure, unchaste people.  Reich continues: “With the development of distorted, lascivious, sexual structures, patriarchal man became enmeshed in an ideology in which ‘sexual’ becomes inextricably associated with ‘filthy,’ ‘low,’demoniacal’.”

As the level of  emotional zeal of Islamists becomes more revolutionary, their ideology becomes more reactionary. There is a new wave of extremists who believe that a pure State of Islam must be instituted not gradually through social consensus but swiftly by military force. With the social turmoil in the Middle East there is a flood of sexually frustrated, displaced and disillusioned youth who are ready and willing to embrace Allah’s cause.

The American people’s general state of complacency and confusion regarding Arabs is exacerbated because the political mainstream is far to  the left of center. Liberals and other political leftists are strongly defended against perceiving their own destructive secondary layer. Therefore, for them, evil does not exist in others even when it is staring them in the face.

Putin’s Socio-political Character Structure

A person’s political character structure is a primary determinant of social events. Therefore, it is necessary  to have an understanding of political characterology which is the study of social and political behavior from the perspective of the individual’s socio-political character structure.

Even as America is sliding further to the left and turning into a socialist state and the Soviet Union no longer exists, the emotional plague in Russian politics continues to fester, reorganize and gather momentum. The emotional plague in Russia is now operating from the political far right under the leadership of Vladimir Putin. An ex-KGB officer and a rigid authoritarian, from a characterological standpoint Putin is an example of a reactionary politician belonging on the political right.

The reactionary character resists change. Sexually, he is very moralistic and restricted which is the basis for his sadism and mysticism. His mystical beliefs are rigidly held and are not subject to reason or proof.

As a politician, Putin has the mystical belief that Russian Society should be resurrected to it’s pre-Soviet “glory.” He has a great deal of brutality in his structure that is frequently overtly expressed or thinly disguised, and always rationalized and justified as necessary. Coupled with his brutality is his reputation for graciousness and hospitality – a reaction formation. Unlike the communist on the extreme left, Putin is governed not by his intellect alone but by his emotions that are rigidly contained in his muscular armor. This is particularly noticeable in the posterior muscles of his neck – He is “stiff-necked.” He does not set himself against religion but emotionally and politically aligns himself with the great Russian Orthodox Church which he attends regularly.

Putin is a militant nationalist, righteous in his political beliefs and intensely resentful of outside political interference in Russian ways of  life. He is adept at providing rationalizations for justifying his aggressively expansionist impulses toward other countries and assumes that these sentiments are shared by the Russian people. His reasons for the annexation of Crimea, for example, were justified by his appeal to Russian nationalistic feelings and by trumped up grievances against that country.

However, Putin’s decision to annex Crimea was not based on mystical feelings alone. As an aggressive plague character on the right, he is excited by the fear of aggression and the fecklessness that he perceives in his opponents led by the President of The United States and he knows that he will get away with the seizure without firing a shot.

Putin’s Land Grab

Whenever an acute  social problem surfaces requiring immediate attention people always focus on the symptoms, never on the underlying disease.  Putin’s grabbing Crimea is a symptom. The underlying emotional  sickness of human beings that made this act of aggression possible is the disease that is always overlooked.

The following, in brief, is the symptom: As a result of it’s anti-authoritarian transformation, Western countries including Russia are socially disintegrating. Faced with this problem, a strong leader like Putin moves to the political right to take control of the social chaos in his country. He also quickly sizes up Barack Obama the leader of the Western World as a weak and politically ineffectual individual. To further consolidate his power, he decides to take an aggressive international action and seizes Crimea.

Part of the underlying disease is the social disintegration of Russian Society that needs to be controlled. Another part is that the same process of social disintegration to a far greater extent is happening in America. However, America’s social sickness is aggravated by having elected a President who has proven himself to be unable to take an aggressive stand to protect America’s interests in any area, either domestically and internationally.

The deepest level of humanity’s disease is that the American public does not see that they have elected a man who is to a large extent responsible for bringing about this international crisis and the destructive consequences that will follow. The American public’s cluelessness is the central problem.

The Rise In People’s Cluelessness

Around 1960, a fundamental transformation in Western Society took place from authoritarian to anti-authoritarian. With the transformation, there was a change in the pattern of armor in young people. Ocular armor largely replaced muscular armor and this had destructive personal and social consequences. Emotional energy was no longer able to be bound and held back in muscular armor. As a result of the weakening of muscular armor and the increase in ocular armor, destructive emotions were expressed through intellectualized rationalizations, hatred and contempt of authority. Blame and resentment were directed at traditional authority figures in all areas of society.
Young people became more irrational and out of touch with themselves and with the world. They became more contactless. The word clueless that is in common usage today accurately describes this mental state.
Accompanying the anti-authoritarian transformation, there appeared for the first time a syndrome of symptoms in children characterized by disturbances in focusing, restlessness and hyperactivity. This condition was called Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Today, the number of young American adults taking medication for ADHD has nearly doubled from 2008 to 20012. One in ten adolescent boys were taking a drug for the disorder.
Today’s adult population represents the children of the baby boomers that were growing up in the 60’s. From a bio-psychiatric perspective, a primary manifestation of the disorder that first appeared at that time, ADHD, are a result of ocular pathology. It is possible to treat this disorder without the use of medication by a qualified therapist.

Schizophrenia And Marijuana Use

Clinical experience in medical orgone therapy shows that patients who have a schizophrenic character structure and  use marijuana often develop a psychotic reaction.  Patients with a non-schizophrenic character structure who use marijuana do not become psychotic but are emotionally deadened and unable to respond in the process of therapy.

In “Pot-Smoking And the Schizophrenia Connection,” an article in The Wall Street Journal July 2, 2013,  evidence is provided of  “a significant and consistent relationship between marijuana use and the development of schizophrenia and related disorders.”  The article cites other articles in the medical literature confirming the association between marijuana use and schizophrenia.

However, there is a segment of the population that uses marijuana that does not develop schizophrenia.  In order to make sense of the difference in people’s responses to the same drug there has to be a better  understanding of the schizophrenic character.  Schizophrenia is the result of ocular repression with panic and splitting (See Man in the Trap, page 141 by Elsworth Baker). Because traditional psychiatrists do not understand the role played by ocular armor in schizophrenia, many people in the general population who are schizophrenic characters are not recognized to have the illness by them.

There are all degrees in which panic and splitting occur in the schizophrenic population.  Many individuals with a schizophrenic character structure who are able to live fairly normal lives can break down and become psychotic if environmental stresses become more than they can handle.  In these individuals marijuana use can act as a stressor and induce a psychotic reaction.

This is an example illustrating the importance of having an accurate bio-psychiatric diagnosis before  evaluating any social situation.

The DSM System Of Diagnosis Cannot Work

The diagnostic system  (DSM 5) published by the American Psychiatric Association is a symptom based approach to diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders. This system is the result of the psychiatrist’s inability to see the character structure of the patient behind the symptom. From a clinical perspective,  any symptom can occur in any patient and, therefore, it is not possible to have a symptom based system of diagnosis. The whole of the patient’s character, determines the function of any symptom and a character based diagnostic system is central to treatment.

Apropos Of Women Drivers In Saudi Arabia

In ” The Woman Who Dared to Drive”, Wall Street Journal, March 23-24, 2013, the author describes the harsh reaction of the al-Saud ruling government to a woman, Manal al-Sharif, who broke the custom of the kingdom that women are not permitted to drive.  Ms al-Sharif was arrested and detained in prison for over a week and was released only after her father personally pleaded with Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah for a pardon and pledged to forbid his daughter ever to drive again in the kingdom.

These events can only make sense from a functional energetic perspective. On one hand there is a woman who wants to exercise her right to drive a motor vehicle.  On the other is a rigidly authoritarian social order that is based on repression of women in particular and on sexual repression in general.  The strict authoritarian order must maintain its control over people by imposing absolute moral rules of social conduct.  These rules function to contain enormous quantities of destructive energy that are bound up in people’s character and muscular armor because that armor prevents them from naturally expressing their emotions socially.  Once these rules are liberalized the flood gates of destructive human emotions will be unleashed and bring about what will amount to an “Arab Spring” for the kingdom, a highly destructive and  chaotic situation similar to that which has recently engulfed many other Muslim nations in the area.

Because Saudi Arabian society is on the socio-political extreme right, black fascists (emotional plague characters) on the right can easily infiltrate and exert control over social policy in the kingdom further increasing the degree of its social rigidity.  The solution to Ms al-Sharif’s problem is not liberalization of Saudi custom but an understanding of and addressing the Saudi pople’s underlying emotional plague that makes it necessary.

Why The Left Almost Always Wins In Politics

In todays anti-athoritarian society the left has almost no chance of losing in politics.  This is partly because leftists are primarily herd animals and they behave collectively in times of crisis as when they have to make political decisions.  Making collective decisions is comfortable for leftists in today’s  anti-authoritarian society because as long as they are being taken care of by their government there is little effort involved in going along with the tide of the political left’s mainstream thinking.  For many, becoming politically mindless is a way of not looking at what is objectively happening around them.

By contrast, those on the right are individualists.  They tend to stick by their principles which are governed more by their personal feelings than by group thinking.  As a result,  they often stand apart from others when confronted with social decisions and this is the reason they have more difficulty coming together as a political force when it comes down to winning political battles.

Furthermore, there are many elements in liberal ideology that conservatives are in favor of.  From a functional perspective, these are the counter truths contained in liberal ideology.  On the other hand, because of their greater degree of ocular armor, liberals are blinded and are driven by their ideology.  The ability of conservatives to recognize and be influenced by the counter truth in liberal ideology is the reason that  there are many varieties of conservatives but few of liberals.  This ability of conservatives to see the aspects of liberalism that they politically favor prevents them from mindlessly coming together as a stronger political force to oppose liberal programs.  Conversely, it is precisely their inability to see the counter truth contained in conservative ideology that makes liberals the politically stronger force.  The presence or absence of ocular armor determines much of what goes on in politics.

The Biological Origin Of Political Correctness

From a sociological perspective, political correctness is defined as the distorted expression of Marxist ideas translated from economics into cultural terms.  Since Marxists and other leftists live almost entirely from the destructive secondary and superficial layers of their bio-psychic structure, it follows that from a biological perspective political correctness is the expression of impulses and ideas originating from the destructive secondary layer that are made socially acceptable by passing through the superficial layer (the defensive use of intellect.)

An example of political correctness is given in the article,  Muslims, Mormons and Liberals ( Wall Street Journal, September 18, 2012) by Bret Stephens. He describes the audience’s response of roaring laughter while watching Mormons being ridiculed and made the butt of obscene jokes in the Broadway Musical, “The Book of Mormons.” He contrasts this response to the liberal establishment’s denouncing of a video clip of a film, “Innocence of Muslims” which depicts slurs made against the Muslim religion.  Leftists across America  called the video “reprehensible and disgusting” and laid sole blame on it for inciting the rioting throughout most of the Muslim world .  Stephens concludes that in the consensus of American liberalism, it is hilarious to mock Mormons and Mormonism but outrageous to mock Muslims and Islam.  He asks cogently, could it be because ” nobody has ever been harmed, much less killed, making fun of Mormons?”

Without knowledge of socio-political characterology, Stephen’s question goes to the heart of the character structure of all leftists: Since they operate from their superficial layer (intellect), they have little or no ability to tolerate physical aggression from their core (which includes the voluntary musculature) and, therefore, they are terrified of and unable to forcefully stand up to the fascist Muslim uprisings on the Right.  Instead, they respond passively  by appeasing and placating them and, at the same time, they displace their unconscious  hatred of Western authority onto benign institutions on the Right such as the  Mormons who are not feared and are therefore seen as safe to attack.

This example is given to illustrate that in order to truly understand socio-political behavior and attitudes and what is going on in our sick world, an in-depth knowledge of the biologically based, emotional roots of  socio-political characterology is essential.

Welcome To The World Of Islam

In order to make sense of what is going on between the Muslim world and the West, an understanding of socio-political characterology is essential.  As long as the authoritarian social order in the West was intact, the Muslim world’s sleep was not disturbed. With the anti-authoritarian transformation of Western society which began around 1960, a polarization and a cultural clash slowly developed between the two worlds.  This was because the anti-authoritarian transformation in the West with the help of the pseudo-liberal/communist character  resulted in a marked shift to the far Left in the socio-political spectrum in these countries.  Since the Muslim world continued to remain unmoved on the far Right of center, this shift widened the already existing cultural gap between them:  The West shifted to the extreme left while the Muslim world continued to  remain unchanged on the extreme Right.

The shift to the Left  in Western culture resulted in the breakdown of  social traditions in every area including particularly a loosening of sexual mores and a decline in personal responsibility.  The permissive attitudes opened the floodgates for the expression of all sorts of secondary destructive impulses in the West which included anti-authoritarian disparaging remarks against each and every form of traditional social institution including the Islamic religion.

This brought about social conditions that were favorable for the eruption of an emotional plague reaction of global proportions.  The Muslim world responded to this behavior on the part of the Left-dominated West in a way that would be expected for the Right, viscerally.  They reacted violently to it as a provocation depending on how far they were characterologically on the right.  Those who were farthest on the Right, the Black Fascists and  the Reactionaries, reacted explosively to the provocation by destroying properties that they saw as symbols of Western influence while those who were less extremist, the conservatives and extreme conservatives, responded less militantly, by preserving the Muslim religion and way of life through peaceful means.

The global aspect of the emotional plague was now in place for the organized elements of Muslim Fascist groups, such as the extreme Right Salafis and al Qaeda, to enter and drum up Muslim outrage spreading the eruption from one country to another.

The fascist Muslim on the Right is active in physically fighting the pseudo-liberal/communist on the Left since he sees him as a rival for the world domination they both seek and as a threat to his essential mysticism (distorted core contact).  By contrast, the pseudo-liberal/communist goes about his solution differently (through his intellect) because he has an essentially mechanistic character structure (lack of core contact). Both political extremes share the same end. They differ only in the means of achieving it.

Telltale Signs Of Leftist Ideologues

No matter how well they try to conceal their true identity behind a facade of “objectivity”, no matter how well they rationalize their arguments, no matter how hard they try to hide their contempt for the “unenlightened,” leftist ideologues have one characteristic in common that always gives them away: They believe in the perfectibility of human beings.  Based on this belief, they are constantly driven to seek change through political action to solve people’s social problems.  This characteristic  of leftists identifies them as “progressives” and originates from a specific feature in their socio-political character structure: They all function from their superficial layer or facade and their destructive middle layer.  From the superficial  layer comes their idealism and their unshakable view that people are perfectible through political intervention. From their destructive middle layer comes their “case” for political action. From these preconceptions the ideologues believe that they are the chosen ones most qualified to improve people’s lives through their socialistic programs.  All others who are opposed to their belief system become collectively associated with the Right. Thus, the ideological battle that takes place between the Left and the Right comes down to those who want to “fix” people and those who are able to see that the methods of the left simply do not work.

Now, it is true that especially as a result of the breakdown of the authoritarian social order society is in trouble and in dire need of help.  However, these leftist ideologues are not the ones who are capable of improving social conditions because they have little or no understanding of  the biologically rooted emotional forces that play the decisive role in determining human social behavior, healthy as well as pathological.  In fact, the Leftists  are more likely than not to make matters worse with their ” solutions.”  These solutions are always basically the same: Change the surface manifestation of social problems and ignore their underlying biological basis.  The result of this symptomatic approach is that social conditions continue to worsen as they spread to and become embedded in deeper layers of social armor.

What Do Obama Supporters Have In Common?

Obama supporters belong in varying degrees somewhere on the left of the socio-political spectrum. There are two characteristics that all Obama supporters have in common and they generally fall into two groups.  The first group identifies with Obama as the underdog. Looking upon Obama mystically as a modern-day savior, this group includes most Blacks, the majority of Jewish voters, Feminists, homosexuals and all those who emotionally see themselves as “disadvantaged.”  The second group sympathizes with the downtrodden out of unconscious feelings of guilt and pity.  This group includes the majority of well-intentioned, well-heeled, white liberal intellectuals.  They see Obama as the one best qualified to mete out  the social and political justice for those who are targeted to qualify as “underprivileged.”

The first group’s support of Obama originates from a defense against unexpressed feelings of revenge, resentment and contempt of people who are labelled by the leftist media as being better off than they are.  This group is the underdog and Obama is its imagined ally against this “privileged” class.  Out of their neurotic helplessness and sense of entitlement, they expect Obama to “redistribute” the wealth from the ” haves” by providing them to the ” have nots.”  The second group’s support of Obama originates from feelings of guilt and pity of people whom they imagine are less fortunate.  These feelings are displaced from their personal lives to the social and political arenas.  Their guilt and good intentions hide their emotionally based  intolerance of  people they regard as top dogs, the authoritarian moguls of our society that they subversively tear down.

From a biophysical perspective, both groups cannot directly and openly express feelings of aggression and hate  from their core and their destructive middle layer.  As a result, they see Obama through rose colored glasses as the person who somehow will make the world a better place for everyone, a role  that Obama is only too willing to assume to promote  his own destructive political agenda.  Both groups of Obama supporters play directly into his hands which is to covertly agitate for a class struggle by pitting one group of Americans against another for purposes of weakening and ultimately destroying America as a unified nation.

Fomenting class warfare has always been a typical tool of leftist radicles to destabilize a country.  It matters not a whit whether Obama or his supporters are aware or not of what they are doing.  Nor does it matter what their intentions are.  What matters is that the effect of their actions is divisive and highly destructive to the American nation.

The Colorado Shooting Could Have Been Prevented If…

The shooting that occurred on July 20, 2012 in Aurora Colorado could have been prevented if the significance of seemingly isolated prior events were recognized and integrated into a whole picture beforehand.

Firstly, from a general description of the shooter as a shy, introverted loner it could have been conjectured that there was a possibility that he was some type of schizophrenic character.  Secondly, from the fact that shortly after starting graduate school he dropped out for no apparent reason, it could have been surmised that he was undergoing a psychotic breakdown at that time.  Although these observations were presumptive evidence that the individual was having a psychotic break, they gave no indication that he was homicidal.  However, a third observation made by his neighbors was a strong indication that he actually was potentially a homicidal paranoid schizophrenic: Shortly before the shooting, he covered the windows of his apartment with newspapers. To a trained psychiatrist, the emotional significance  of this act was a telltale sign that he was in a state of acute psychotic panic and that, as a result, he was suffering from persecutory delusions.  From his perspective, he was in mortal danger for at least two months prior to the shootings and this is why he had to arm himself to the hilt offensively and defensively in every way possible in order to protect himself from harm. From this perspective, it was irrelevant whether he bought a thousand rounds or ten thousand of ammunition. By playing the Joker, the murders were a psychotic attempt to defend himself from his inner terror by projecting the source of the danger to his life onto the outside world.

If the emotional significance of his suddenly covering the windows was correctly understood by those around him as a bizarrely psychotic act, it could have been possible to prevent this and other similar tragic events from happening. (Remember that the Oslo mass murderer also covered his windows just prior to the killings.) It is possible with knowledge that is currently available to educate the public to be aware of the behavioral signs and symptoms in people that lead them to commit homicidal acts.

Why Liberals Must Vote For Obama In 2012

The primary determinants of political belief and action are based on the individual’s socio-political character structure.  Belonging on the political left, the liberal character functions  mainly from his superficial layer or facade because the morality and the ideology of the political left originate from this layer.  It’s function is to defend against the liberal individual’s perceiving impulses from his core and destructive middle layers.  This perceptual distortion is why the liberal cannot act forcefully when physical aggression is required and it is why because of his guilt that he is quick to identify with America’s enemies whenever there is an international dispute.  Despite his lack of aggression and free floating guilt, however, the true liberal has always been a loyal American and a supporter of her democratic ideals.

Then around 2007, a colossal hoax was perpetrated on the American public.  Seemingly out of nowhere and with little known of his past history, Barack Obama, an individual with an entirely different (pseudo-liberal/communist) character structure was introduced to the American public as a member of the political mainstream, as a no nonsense, honest to goodness, legitimate liberal member of the Democratic Party.  This was a brilliant coup that was accomplished, in part, by effectively concealing his past association with leftist radicals and, in part, by his being actively promoted by the mainstream media for what he was not.

Most liberal characters were unable to see this coup because they live almost entirely from their superficial layer.  Living from their intellect prevented them from seeing and feeling  what was happening in front of their eyes and in their depths.  This is why it was a simple matter for Obama to pass himself off as one of them.  All he had to do was feed them the liberal’s idealistic slogans that they love hearing enough times to sound convincing to them (“We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”) etc.  This he successfully did in his 2008 presidential campaign.

However, the similarity between the true liberal and Barack Obama is delusory. In contrast to the liberal, Obama merely pretends to be defended against the expression of his destructive middle layer.  Cut off from his biological core, Obama’s superficial layer is entirely in the service of expressing his destructive middle layer against America. He expresses his contempt and hatred of the tradition of independence, resourcefulness and individual responsibility that is characteristic of  Americans whenever possible, something that is impossible for the liberal to recognize. No other Democratic American president no matter how liberal from Roosevelt to Clinton has been as disdainful of America and Americans as Obama. Because of the seeming similarity in their structures, liberals must vote for Obama even if Obama’s economic and social policies actually run counter to their own interests.

The Consequences Of The Socio-political Redshift On People’s Thinking

The socio-political redshift is the deviation to the far left of center in the current mainstream of socio-political thought.  It was brought about because of the anti-authoritarian transformation of American society which began around 1960 and it was responsible for the political polarization between the left and the right and the generalized cultural degradation in society.

It is first necessary to recognize the existence of the socio-political red shift before any sense can be made of a politician’s true identity and mode of operation.  Because of this redshift to the left of center, any moderate politician that is not part and parcel of  the mainstream of  political thinking is automatically identified  as a product of the political far right while anyone belonging on the political left, no matter how far to the left he belongs, is considered to be a political moderate.  This is why Barack Obama who belongs to the extreme left of center is considered by many  Americans to be a moderate liberal when, in fact, he actually functions as a pseudo-liberal/communist character. This segment of the population is totally taken in by his pseudo-liberal facade.

Part of the problem is that people think only in terms of what political party a politician belongs to and not in terms of their socio-political character structure that determines their political ideas.  The Democratic Party in America was successfully infiltrated and taken over by hard core communist characters during the 1960s at the time that the socio-political red shift was happening. This major event in the history of American politics was the essence of the redshift, an event that went almost completely unnoticed by everyone including, in particular, the younger generation living today, most of whom grew up after the anti-authoritarian transformation and therefore are not aware that a major political shift to the left of center has really happened.  For them, the current socio-political mainstream is actually believed to be the true political center.  This generation of confused idealistic young people are highly susceptible to the plague’s infectiveness. They are in danger of being easily swept up by the political rhetoric of the ” mainstream” extreme left. The public’s high level of support for government sponsored health care, Obamacare, is one example of  people’s dependency on the state for their care and a symptom of the political redshift.

A Cardinal Sign Of An Emotional Plague Character

An important characteristic of  individuals who are afflicted with the emotional plague  is that they are incapable of doing an honest days work.  Although they are unable to work productively, however,  they are highly skilled in ordering others about what they should do.  As a substitute for work,  emotional plague individuals frequently become politicians shoving their political agendas  down other people’s throats.  The substitute activities of these ne’er-do-wells are, in fact, nothing but poorly recognized signs of the emotional plague.

In his recent book, Barack Obama: The Story, author David Maraniss provides a clear picture of such an individual’s work function.  Obama hated his first job working at Business International  after graduating from Colombia University.  He called it ” working for the enemy” because some of the work he did for the company had to do with business  investments in Third World countries.  At Business International he felt uncomfortable: ” Like a spy behind enemy lines, I arrived every day at my mid-Manhatten office.”  He lasted only a year before quitting.  He then became an adept practitioner of political radical, Saul Alinsky’s methods. Obama became a community activist  organizing residents on the Chicago South Side.  According to his wife, Michelle Obama, ” Barack is not a politician first and foremost. He’s a community activist…”  Obama took her assessment as a compliment.  Subsequently, Obama attended Harvard law school, briefly practiced public interest law, taught a college class and finally got into politics where he found his calling.

To a biographer or a historian who has no understanding of the emotional plague, the work history of Mr. Obama is of no particular significance.  To someone who recognizes the importance of the biological work function in determining the quality of human life, however, it speaks volumes: Simply put, it shows that Mr. Obama is biophysically incapable of doing any kind of rational, productive work from his biological core. (Operating as a community organizer is neither rational nor productive. It is activity that originates from the secondary destructive layer of  a totally work-crippled individual and another sign of the emotional plague.)

No surprise then that, by any standard of measurement, Obama’s work performance as President of the United States has been an abysmal failure and that, if elected to a second term of office, it cannot be otherwise.  Whether this country can survive another four years of destructiveness and ineptness at the executive level remains to be seen.

The Decline In The Level Of People’s Core Contact

The antiauthoritarian transformation of American society has resulted in profoundly destructive social changes because it released the fury of the secondary layer contained in armored people.  An attempt by the superficial layer or facade to contain the destructiveness gave rise to the hypertrophy of the intellect as a defense against it.  This was manifested in recent years by  people’s pursuit of superficial distractions of every kind including relying on drugs of every kind to take away their pain and suffering, relying on the morality of political correctness to deal with the superficial symptoms of the secondary layer and a shift in the political mainstream to the far left of center, the socio-political red shift.

This shift to the left was politically legitimized in 2008 with the election of Barack Obama as President of the United States.  Compared to the biophysical state of the American people in around 1960, there has been an alarming decline in their level of core contact. This is graphically manifested by the fact that today, in 2012, Obama has a good chance of being elected by the American people to a second term of office.  If he had been running for president in 1960, he would have been easily seen by everyone, including Democrats as well as Republicans, as an undisguised communist and run out of town.

From a biophysical point of view, people who politically support Obama are functioning entirely from their superficial layer and have no contact with their biological core.  They are  liberal characters duped by the political mainstream into believing that he is a loyal American.  How long can a society survive where people are out of touch to such a degree with their biological core?

From The History Of The Emotional Plague: The Solution Of Conservatism

With the transformation of society from authoritarian to anti-authoritarian that started around 1960, the floodgates that were holding back the great destructive secondary layer drives of humanity for thousands of years gave way and the full force of the emotional plague inundated the Western world like a tsunami.  Spreading its infection into every corner of human life including, in particular, political life in America, it continues it’s devastation unnoticed by almost everyone.

Politician’s knee-jerk response to this cataclysmic event depended entirely on their socio-political character structure.  Those on the extreme left, the communists, immediately saw it as an opportunity to take political advantage of the situation.  Taking well-meaning liberals along with them, they pretended to be one of them and became pseudo-liberals.  They rode on the wave of social destruction that was taking place in the following years, added their leftist “solutions” to the devastation and passed off these changes as ” social progress” to a gullible public.   On the other hand, conservatives in both political parties (Democratic as well as Republican) fought to resist the social destructiveness, but because they had no idea of the nature of the  evil that they were fighting and because their only way of opposing the plague was through political means, their attempts were in vain.

The defeat of the Democratic Party’s standard-bearer Hubert Humphrey to Richard Nixon in 1968 marked the “beginning of the end” for the conservative faction of that party, many of whom went on to become “neoconservatives”.  Meanwhile, the traditional political role of the Democratic Party consisting of true liberals was rapidly fading as it became under the control of  the pseudo-liberal contingent.

In reaction to the communist threat in the 1950s and to the global outbreak of the emotional plague in the 1960’s, the conservative movement slowly began to organize in America from different sources, mainly from those who had belonged to the Republican Party and became the Conservative Party.  Most recently, the Tea Party movement, founded in 2009, has proven a large outlet for conservatism.  Their stated political goals include adherence to the U.S. Constitution, lower taxes, and the opposition to the federal government’s encroachment into areas that are outside of its province such as health care.

Depending on where they are to the right of the socio-political spectrum, conservatives have varying degrees of undistorted core contact.  Because they only deal on a superficial, political level with the emotional plague’s many symptoms, the conservative movement’s effectiveness in opposing its spread has been limited.  Unfortunately, focusing on the symptoms and not the underlying disease itself  inevitably turns the rational effort at containment of the plague into “politics as usual,” an endless ideological battle between the opposing political forces of the left and the right.  The net result is one victory after another for the forces of the emotional plague.

From The History Of The Emotional Plague: The Solution Of Liberalism

Because the existence of the emotional plague is not recognized, every new attempt to deal with its ravages turns into another, even more destructive expression of the plague than the one before.  Beginning around the 17th century,  the liberal movement in Europe was an attempt to break away from the chains of Christian repression and mysticism that held people in bondage for over a thousand years.  In the 21st century, this liberal movement has shifted far to the political left and has developed into pseudo-liberal/communism which is an anti-authoritarian form of secular repression.  Pseudo-liberal/communism is the application of mechanistic mystical thinking to daily life in America. It is a far more invasive and deadly manifestation of the emotional plague than the authoritarian system that it has replaced.

Liberals function primarily from the superficial layer of their bio-psychic structure.  Their mode of operation is through the use of their intellect in a defensive manner. to protect them from experiencing the destructiveness that is contained in their middle layer.  From their defensive intellectualism originates the two other characteristics of the liberal syndrome, a mechanistic explanation of natural phenomena and a collectivistic attitude toward social living.

There are several important socio-political consequences to the liberal’s living, perceiving and thinking primarily from their superficial layer.

1) Since the liberal has no contact with his secondary layer, he also has little contact with his biological core.  He therefore has no deep emotional sense of the existence of good and  evil or of the emotional plague of mankind.  This is the reason for his moral relativism and his believing that all human beings are essentially good and that even hardened criminals can be rehabilitated.

2) Living from the superficial layer, the liberal perceives everything from the surface.  For example, the liberal physician looks at medical illnesses exclusively from the perspective of the superficial symptom or the immediate biochemical manifestations of the disease.  Not capable of understanding the deeper biological causes of disease, his therapy is focused on eliminating the disturbing symptom.  The liberal economist and politician does the same in the economic and political realms.  The liberal sociologist has no sense that a social transformation of catastrophic proportions from authoritarian to anti-authoritarian that began around 1960 is rapidly undermining the stability of Western civilization.

3) Because the liberal’s defense against feeling is from his intellect and not his musculature, the liberal political leader relies heavily on his rational powers derived from his well developed intellect to deal with domestic issues and threats to national security.  His fear of open aggression prevents him from  being able to take a forceful aggressive stand and, by misleading our enemies to think of America as weak, is capable of putting this country and the world in mortal danger.

Political correctness is cultural Marxism. It is Marxism translated from economics into cultural terms. When the morality of political correctness becomes firmly anchored in the superficial layer of the liberal individual’s bio-psychic structure, the liberal’s socio-political character rigidifies and changes into one of pseudo-liberal/communist.  The individual functions as an emotional plague character.   With the election of Barack Obama as President of the United States in 2008, the pseudo-liberal/communist character entered the mainstream of American politics on the left and became legitimized.

The Common Understanding Of “Character” Is Not Enough

In a recent Wall Street Journal article “America’s Crisis of Character” (April 21-22 2012), conservative columnist Peggy Noonan cites that the week’s Gallup poll showed that only 24% of Americans feel that the nation was on the right track.  She attributes the  dissatisfaction to the widespread cultural degradation that is taking place in every area of American life . She is “worried about the American character-who we are and what kind of adults we are raising.”

Typical of conservatives, the use of the concept of character in this way is unfortunately fraught with strong pejorative and moral overtones (i.e. “good” vs “bad” character) and is, therefore, of not much help in providing an understanding and management of the source of social problems.

There is now a true science of character. First  discovered by Wilhelm Reich and extended into the social and political arena by Elsworth Baker, knowledge of characterology can dramatically help people  to effectively deal with today’s social destructiveness. Reich described character functionally as the individual’s stereotypical manner of acting and reacting in all, (including social and political) situations.  The primary function of  character is to protect (armor) the individual from feeling unpleasant and unacceptable emotions and sensations.  A functional understanding of  character can be essential to know how a person will behave in any given social situation.

Our anti-authoritarian society is the result of the breakdown of the traditional authoritarian family and of the numerous kinds of impulsive an anti-social character types that are currently littering the social landscape.  Today’s anti-social behavior that Ms. Noonan describes in her article is a direct result of this breakdown.  Without an understanding of the function of character armor and of the anti-authoritrian transformation of society that we are living in, all attempts at trying to make sense of what is happening to our society are  bound to be futile.  The only thing the political right can accomplish is to retard the social degradation into socialism.  It can do nothing to arrest or reverse it.

People’s Difficulty In Recognizing The Emotional Plague

People’s inability to recognize the existence of the emotional plague as a highly destructive and contagious medical disease is related to the fact that there is currently no scientific knowledge of the bio-emotional forces that govern human social life.

What must be known and understood is that differences in human armor produce differences in the way the emotional plague is misperceived and misunderstood. These differences correspond in a general way to the pattern of armor of people belonging on the left and right of the socio-political spectrum. Those on the left (liberals) live mainly in their superficial layer or facade. For them, the idea of the emotional plague is meaningless because the function of the liberal’s facade is to defend them from being aware of their destructive, middle layer (from where the emotional plague originates) and so the plague does not seem to exist for them.  (The liberal’s unawareness of the plague is partly why they are an effective tool that leftist radicals can use at will to carry out their destructive social agendas.)  Those on the right (conservatives) have better contact with their middle layer and their core. For conservatives, the idea of the emotional plague is real but it is perceived in a distorted form.  They view the plague not as a true medical disease but as a moral human failing.  They think of it in terms of “good” and “bad” human behavior and that the illness can be addressed by rational political dialogue.  However, the plague is not good or bad.  It cannot be stopped by political means.  Like any other medical disease, the plague is embedded in the biophysical structure of plague-ridden people.  The farther they are to the right of center, the more righteous and irrational are their thoughts about the plague.  This view of the plague is worthless from a therapeutic standpoint since a moralistic or righteous approach can never be used to combat a contagious medical condition.  (It is reminiscent of the irrationally fearful ways some contagious medical diseases, such as leprosy, syphilis and the bubonic plague, were treated before the modern era in medicine.)

Humanity cannot possibly come to grips with the emotional plague and recognize it as a deadly medical illness because their armor prevents people from seeing and thinking without distortion about problems in their individual and social lives.  This is why the disease will  remain a mystery and continue to ravage society until a sufficient number of  qualified social scientists appear on the scene who can take an honest look at themselves and deal with the emotional plague as a true medical illness.

The Socio-politics Of Race Relations In America

In order to understand social phenomena, one has to be knowledgable of the underlying bio-emotional and characterological forces that determine human behavior.  There is an  important but poorly recognized difference in the relationship between blacks and whites according to whether they are on the right or left of the socio-political spectrum. Originating from the biological core, the social relationship among blacks and whites who have a conservative character structure is a live and let live attitude. ( Black leftists typically look upon black conservatives who believe that, with contempt as if they were selling themselves off to the ” white man.”)  By contrast, the relationship among blacks and whites who have a leftist character structure is tainted by pre-existing character attitudes derived from their secondary destructive layer which are brought into play and are acted out socially and politically .

And this is where the social mischief starts. White leftists displace their unconscious feelings of guilt onto blacks by indulging the black’s underlying feelings of inadequacy and their sense of entitlement. This permits the blacks to feel as if they are somehow a special people ( a reaction formation.)  Black leftists, on the other hand, respond to this condescending attitude on the part of white leftists by expressing their contempt and resentment verging on hatred of whites. From an instinctual standpoint, both parties have their neurotic feelings satisfied.  The whites are left with a good feeling having appeased their guilty consciences while the blacks have expressed their unconscious sadistic impulses toward whites. The dynamics of this relationship between black and white leftists is played out on all social levels ranging from the promotion of affirmative action programs in education and the workplace, to the election of incompetent and highly destructive politicians to public office. The problems in 21st century America are not primarily racial.  Race is used by leftist blacks and whites for the sole purpose of generating socio-political conflict.

What’s Wrong With The Teenage Mind?

In a recent article in the Wall Street Journal (Jan. 28-29, 2012) entitled, What’s Wrong With The Teenage Mind?, professor of psychology at the University of California, Berkeley, Alison Gopnik ascribes much of the troubles modern teenagers have in coping with the world to the teenager’s brain. Ms. Gopnik attempts to understand teenage behavior by way of localized pathways in the brain such as “reward centers” and ” control systems” that underlie certain behavioral functions.

That the brain is involved with the teenager’s behavior or that the interaction between the teenager with the environment is important in the kind of behavior that is exhibited goes without saying. These statements about the brain are insufficient to explain the erratic, dysfunctional behavior of many teenagers today.

What is left unsaid is the effect that the dramatic changes that have occurred with the transformation of Western society from authoritarian to anti-authoritarian and the mechanistic-mystical world view that accompanies it has had on the lives of everyone, including and especially teenagers.  The breakup of the past authoritarian social order and its underpinning, the authoritarian family based on sexual repression, has been replaced by a social order that is even more inimical to life than its predecessor.  To make matters worse, all that was painstakingly gained in psychiatry in the past, including the knowledge of human psycho-sexual development (the disturbances in which account for much of what is troubling teenagers today) has been completely thrown out in the practice of psychiatry.

In fact, the practice of psychiatry today has regressed to where it was over 100 years ago when the subjective workings of the mind was equated in a one-to-one fashion with the objective operation of  localized brain functions.  Modern psychiatry is as far away from understanding the problems of teenagers as it was then.  Meanwhile, thanks to our anti-authoritarian social order, the level of social pathology manifested by everyone including teenagers has escalated to a far greater extent compared to where it was then.  These social developments can only be understood as a direct manifestation of higher levels of emotional plague activity in today’s world.

The Portrait Of A Political Demigod

According to The Random House Dictionary, a demigod is more than human. He is a deified mortal. Many politicians appear to be demigods when they are campaigning for public office, but once the election is over, they stop acting like that, whether they have won or lost.  The true political demigod, on the other hand, has a constellation of permanent characteristics that is unique.  1) He has no history of a stable, consistent work function prior to entering politics.  2) Politics is a substitute for genuine work.  3) His political mission is entirely self-serving to fit his preexisting ideological world view.  4) He has an overriding hatred of and a need to change the established world order with grandiose schemes of a heaven on earth.  5) He is convinced of the infallibility of his belief system.  6) The success of his  campaign strategy is based on promising the electorate anything and everything for the sole purpose of gaining power over them.

This strategy is designed to cement a powerful identification of the demigod with the electorate.  Once he has succeeded in this strategy, the demigod has attained a godlike stature.  He can do no wrong in the eyes of the populace.  Demigods can appear on both sides of the political spectrum.  In today’s anti-authoritarian society with the marked shift of the political mainstream to the left of center, demigods are likely to appear from the political left.  Barack Obama is a recent example of the appearance of a demigod from the political left.

Obama’s choice of work before entering politics was that of a political activist.  According to his wife Michelle, Obama was a community activist exploring the viability of politics to make [social] change. ” The solution to every problem,” according to a reporter who studied Obama’s projects, ” was a distribution of government funds.”   Until he became a full time legislator in 1996, Obama’s primary focus of work was Acorn, the largest radical organization in the United States. The infallibility of his belief system originates entirely from his highly developed intellect. At the height of his election campaign, he announced:  “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”  Just prior to his entering the White House, in a moment of candor he said: ” We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.”  In his election campaign he appealed to the entire electorate and promised that if he were elected president he would finally put an end to the political divisiveness that was tearing America apart. Once elected, however, he did exactly the opposite.  He immediately proceeded to ram his socialistic medical agenda (ObamaCare) down the throat of the American people  (which he later said will be for the good of everyone) and dramatically  increased the authority and spending power of the Federal Government at the expense of the private sector.

Personally, he exhibits overt contempt for American policies internationally and for hard working, decent American people in general.   The effect of this attitude is to chastise Americans.  An emotional plague tactic, it is an attempt to induce an unconscious sense of guilt and paralysis and to make Americans feel that whatever they are doing is somehow wrong.  According to him, Americans have to change their ways.  If they would only follow him, President Obama is the one capable of redeeming Americans of their evil past deeds.  He is also the only one capable of providing all Americans with an illusion of economic security while, at the same time, making them ever more dependent and under the control of the Federal Government with people like him at the top.

The problem that confronts us is not the political demigod.  It is the helplessness of armored people that makes it possible for demigods to regularly appear on the social scene.  The political interaction of the demigod with helpless, socially dependent people who are emotionally out of touch with themselves is what enables the demigod to exist.

There Has To Be Something More To Life

Orgonomy attracts two kinds of people, those who are attracted to it and stick with it and those who are first attracted to it and then are repelled by it. Those who come to orgonomy and stick with it share one important trait. They have a deep sense that there must be something more to life than what is generally available. They see this something in the science of orgonomy, a science that allows one to have knowledge of the life energy, a science that provides a unified and satisfactory understanding of both the inner and the outer worlds. By contrast, those who come to orgonomy and leave also have one thing in common. They feel that there is something else that the science of orgonomy has not provided them with. For them, orgonomy is just one of many disciplines that are available to the public. They stay in touch with orgonomy for varying periods but sooner or later they are off to engage in other pursuits often taking little parts of orgonomy with them.
The difference between the two groups is that the first has retained a largely undistorted sense of the importance of their work and sexual functions in their daily lives. They are able to achieve pleasure in work and in their personal lives that their experience with orgonomy has given to them and they have a sense of gratitude to the orgonomists who have given them this appreciation. The second group has a distorted often mystical sense of their core functions of life and therefore they are unable to practically utilize what orgonomy has given them. Having no genuine appreciation for what they have been given, they often lose themselves in mystical teachings and practices of one sort or another.

Functional Thinking Is Neither Left Nor Right

People’s individual and socio-political character armor are the primary forces determining destructive human interactions. Unfortunately, the effect of human armor on irrational thinking and behavior is not generally recognized. The harmful effects of armor lead to two ways of thinking: mechanistic or mystical. These correspond in a general way to the political ideologies of the Left and the Right. Political leaders and others who think ideologically to the left of center of the political spectrum think mechanistically; they view human beings and society as if they were a kind of machine that can be controlled and manipulated through outworn socialist schemes from the top. They have no trouble recognizing the limitations of the political Right. Political leaders and others who think ideologically to the right view humans mystically, assuming that there is some higher, mysterious purpose governing human life. They have no difficulty recognizing and opposing the destructive socialist policies promoted by the Left. When these opposing ideologies rigidify as they have today,American society becomes riven and is in danger of being destroyed.

It is not enough to see the shortcomings of the Left or the Right. Functional thinking allows one to recognize the limitations of both political ideologies and to see that they are components of a unified and mutually exclusive system of thought characteristic of all armored humans called “mechanistic-mysticism”. These thought systems always function to oppose one another and this is why there can never be any reconcilement between them.
According to functional thinking and contrary to popular belief, the political center is not absolute and static. Depending on social conditions it can shift to the left or right. In today’s anti-authoritarian society the political center has shifted far to the left. Therefore, from a functional perspective, many of those who are on the political right actually belong on the true center in their political thinking and attitudes. This is why they are often capable of making rational sense when it comes to politics.
Functional thinking permits one to step out of the prevailing, narrow mechanistic-mystical worldview. It provides the possibility to have a clear perspective and understanding of the world we live in and of the way certain severely armored individuals are able to bring about the social chaos and destruction, the operation of the emotional plague, that we are currently witnessing.

The Relationship Between The True Liberal And The Pseudo-liberal Characters

In today’s anti-authoritarian era, it is especially useful to understand the dynamics of the social relationship between the true liberal and the pseudo-liberal/communist character.  It is generally believed that liberals and pseudo-liberals are one and the same. Those on the left also believe that  they honestly share the same political goal of bringing about a better world.  These dangerous errors originate from superficial similarities in the structures of these two very different socio-political political character types.  In fact, the pseudo-liberal takes advantage of this popular misconception and uses the idealistic beliefs of the true liberal to further his own socialist socio-political agenda.  Lenin understood the political function of the liberal character for facilitating a communist takeover in Europe very well.  He referred to liberals as “useful idiots”.

This relationship between the true liberal and the pseudo-liberal/communist is illustrated in the recent Occupy Wall Street movement.  The true liberal rightly protests the criminal practices of people in the financial and business world that have recently surfaced.   By identifying himself as a true liberal, the emotional plague in the person of the pseudo-liberal  character injects his venom with the same worn out anti-Wall Street, anti-capitalist nostrums that he has been peddling for ages.  The result is that the true liberal’s rational concerns about corruption in the business world are lost.  The emotional plague paralyzes rational thinking.  By not recognizing that Occupy Wall Street is an outbreak of the emotional plague, the public cannot effectively contain its social destructiveness.

Protest Movements, Then And Now

From a historical perspective, there is an important difference between the protest movement of the  1960s and the current Occupy Wall Street protest movement.  This can be understood as a result of the transformation of society from authoritarian to anti-authoritarian that occurred around that time.  Both protest movements originate from a serious disturbance in the two basic functions of human life, sexuality and work.

The protesters of the 60s were a a product of the authoritarian social order.  Initially, they were a highly idealistic group of young people who wanted sexual freedom  (a core function) and to be rid of the shackles of conventional morality.  Tragically, the movement ended in disaster individually, because most of these youngsters were too disturbed emotionally to achieve sexual happiness and socially, because the movement was taken over and used for political purposes by leftist ideologues.  These  were the reasons for the failure of the so-called sexual revolution.

By contrast, today’s protesters are a product of the post-1960s, anti-authoritarian social order.  Unable to take advantage of the enormous amount of freedom and opportunity that is readily available to them in America, they want the exact opposite.  Many of them evidence a severe disturbance in their work function because the thought of working to have what they want never seems to occur to them.  Instead, they want the security of being taken care of by the government.  In sharp contrast to the earlier protesters, security is more important to them than freedom.  This is the reason that a large majority of these protesters are leftist ideologues.

The Wall Street protesters are an emotionally far sicker bunch than the protesters of the past.  Having no contact with their core, the energy behind their protesting comes entirely from their middle layer as bratty destructiveness.  The last thing that these protesters need is to have their childish behavior encouraged.  This is exactly what the Obama administration seems to be doing.  If economic conditions continue to worsen, as they most likely will if Obama is reelected in 2012, this group has the potential of doing even greater social harm by escalating their interference with public life.

The Problem With Today’s Psychiatric Therapies

At the root of the problem with all psychiatric therapies is the lack of a functional understanding of a whole series of interrelated, unanswered fundamental questions starting with what constitutes emotional health and sickness?   From this question, the following questions logically arise: What are emotions?  What is an emotional disturbance?  How can emotional disturbances be classified scientifically to provide a rational system of diagnosis and treatment?   Without satisfactorily answering all of these questions it is not possible to arrive at a rational, causal method of psychiatric therapy.

Unfortunately, these questions cannot be adequately answered because people’s armored condition prevents them from thinking functionally.  Instead, today’s approach to psychiatric therapies falls into two general categories, mechanistic or symptom-based treatment and mystical or “holistic” treatment.   Symptom-based approaches to diagnosis, and treatments such as drug therapy and behavior therapy are superficial and of limited value.  From an etiological point of view, any symptom can appear in any diagnostic category.  The holistic approach does away with the problem of symptoms by focusing on the patient’s “wellness” and the “whole patient” but it evades the problem of diagnosis altogether.

From a functional view, the clinical significance of any symptom is the function that it serves in relation to the individual’s particular character diagnosis.  Therefore, understanding the patient’s character structure comes before the significance of the symptom can be understood.  This is why it is not possible to correctly treat a psychiatric disorder from a curative point of view without first having established an accurate diagnosis.

Rather than deriving their clinical thinking from their clinical observations, armored therapists force their observations to fit into their preconceived mechanistic-mystical ways of thinking, thereby doing a grave disservice to their patients as well as bringing about the destruction of a once highly respected profession.
